There are a lot of uncertainties right now and what’s most important is that our kids are well taken care of. If you need extra food for your family, below are local resources providing free meals to kids and families. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: The Michigan Department of Education has an interactive map of meal distribution locations that is updated daily.

 

Ann Arbor Public Schools: Food will be available for pick up on Tuesdays and Fridays for youth up to 18 and young adults with special needs up to 26 years old.

 

Blake’s Cider Mill: Blakes is giving grab and go free lunch to kids under 18 years old. Please place your orders in advance.

 

Birmingham Public Schools: Breakfast and lunch for students to take home Monday-Friday.

 

Bloomfield Hills Schools: Breakfast and lunch for students to take home Monday-Friday.

 

Dearborn Public Schools: Parents or students can stop in and grab a bag of food for lunch and breakfast each weekday from 10 to noon.

 

Detroit Parks and Recreation: Parents and children can pick up two meals (breakfast and lunch) and additional meals can be requested on Friday to last through the weekend. Meals are offered, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Adam Butzel, Farwell and Kemeny Recreation Centers.

 

Gleaners Food Banks: Services at each food distribution center varies, search for one close to you and call to see availability.

 

Library Street Collective: The Detroit gallery will be handing out weeknight dinners to local public school kids for the next two weeks beginning March 23rd.

 

Livonia Public Schools: Breakfast and lunch meal pick up to students on Tuesdays.

 

Novi Community School District: Breakfast and lunch for 7 days to students.

 

Royal Oak Public Schools: Breakfast and lunch for students to take home Monday-Friday.

 

YMCA of Metro Detroit: The YMCA is providing up to 4 meals to youth up to 18 and young adults with special needs up to 26 years old.
