The City of Westland announced a major a new $3 million investment at Tattan Park that will transform the playground into an out of this world experience.

Tattan Park in Westland is already one of our favorite places to play and the newly revealed design for a new playground has us counting down the days to check it out.

The City of Westland will be rebranding of the popular H20 Zone Splash Pad into a dinosaur themed attraction that will include interactive sounds and lights for an immersive, kid-friendly dinosaur experience. The $300k splash pad updates are expected to be complete by Memorial Weekend.

The elaborately designed “Mission to Mars” playground will include towering rocket ships, lunar rovers, slides, and play activities that let you experience zero gravity. The ADA accessible structure will provide plenty of room to move about, sensory play and innovative activities for people of all ages and physical abilities to enjoy together. The opening for the new playground is expected to be the spring of 2023.

If you love the current sturcture, there’s even more great news, it will be refurbished and relocated to Lincoln-Johnson Field in Westland’s Historic Norwayne District (33800 Grand Traverse).
