If you had fun at Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve and are looking for a similar adventure, take a drive to Fox Science Preserve in Ann Arbor.

Step into the West at Fox Science Preserve. The Washtenaw County Park is a former gravel pit and has rocky hills your littles will love to climb.  Free and open to the public you’ll want to bring good walking/climbing shoes. Walk the half mile trail to read educational markers and keep an eye out for neighboring horses.

This hidden gem has a small parking lot and, unfortunately, there are no restrooms. After you park, take a short walk through a wooden trail to reach the preserve. Bring water because the kids can spend hours exploring.
