Howell Nature Center

The Howell Nature Center is one of our favorite places to visit animals, take a nature walk and let the children run around the playground – the treehouse forts and canopy walks are pretty cool for parents and kids alike!

For-Mar Nature Preserve

For-Mar Nature Preserve has beautiful walking trails, a tree house and nature center – all FREE! The rustic trail isn’t too long for little legs but warning it can get muddy. Our kids loved exploring and using the map and markers to lead the way. The nature center has multiple rooms with activities and animals.

Have a treetop adventure close to home, here are local playground your kids will love climbing around.

Tree Runner Adventure Park

Kids  6 and older will have a blast trying  60 exciting obstacles and zip lines at the Aerial Forests in West Bloomfield and Rochester.

Dow Gardens

Whiting Forest of Dow Gardens features 54 acres of woodlands, ponds, apple orchard, meadows, and stream. Guests of all ages and abilities are immersed in the forest on the nation’s longest canopy walk, 1,400 feet long, soaring up to 40 feet above the ground.

Cannaley Treehouse Village

If you have cabin fever, we’ve got some cabins for you! The Cannaley Treehouse Village is the largest public overnight treehouse site in the country and it’s only a short drive away at Metroparks Toledo!

Meijer Gardens

Treehouse Village at Meijer Garden & Sculpture Park is fun for kids to run around. Located in the Children’s Garden you can also find a massive water table and statues of characters from your favorite children’s stories.

The Mohicans Treehouse Resort
