March brings with it Spring hope and lots of fun family events and activities throughout Metro Detroit. From Easter Egg Hunts and St. Patrick’s Day events, to National Reading Month and maple sugar events, there’s something for every family to enjoy this month.
National Reading Month
We love books and reading with our kids and if you do too here are a variety of fun ways you can celebrate National Reading Month at home (and at the library too!).

Warmer weather means we all come out of hibernation – animals included. Maybury Farm reopens for the season in March. The Detroit Zoo is always a favorite and if you’re feeling daring – check out The Reptarium!
Make Some Magic
The traditional St. Patrick’s Day parades are off BUT there’s still plenty of fun to be had. I recommend buying or checking out How To Trap a Leprechaun by Sue Fliess and creating a Leprechaun trap at home with your kids. Make a DIY rainbow over their door in the morning and set out a little treat. You can also make it a ‘FriesDay’ and get a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds.
Tap Some Trees
Help tap the trees this winter and stock up on maple syrup for home. From outdoor adventures to take-home kits there are plenty of options.
Soak Up The Sun
The sun is shining and the snow is melting. Call up a friend for a long overdue park date and let the kids run around one of these fun local playgrounds.

Check Out The New Exhibit @ The Henry Ford
The Henry Ford’s new Driven to Win: Racing in America exhibit was meant for the Motor City and our little car lovers. With nearly two dozen new cars, 24 interactive spaces and multiple diver simulators kids and parents will have a blast.
Find The Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny is set to officially arrive on Sunday, April 4th, however, there’s plenty of opportunities to see him beforehand and do some super fun Easter-related activities throughout Metro Detroit!
