Sports are a great way to improve your child’s motor and social skills. If you’re thinking about signing your littles up for a sport this fall, we suggest giving soccer a try. It’s a fun sport to start kids off with because you don’t need a lot of equipment and running around a field often ensures naptime success. Don’t know where to get started? Here are a few places to find youth soccer in Metro Detroit.

MACC Sports

MACC Sports Soccer Program’s goal is to teach the basic skills of soccer, building confidence, and teaching the rules and strategies to play games. The objective is to impact youth players’ long-term development by delivering fun on-pitch experiences that create additional opportunities for boys and girls 3-14 to engage in play, foster skill development, cultivate friendships and families, and learn more about the love of Christ.

Parents can enroll their kids in MACC Sports On Goal Soccer Camp that runs July 27th to 31st from 9am to 3pm for kids ages 4 to 14. Registration is open and costs $115 for half day and $135 for full day camp.


Detroit City Football Club

For years DCFC has provided metro Detroit with a professional soccer league and last year they launched youth leagues to help train the next generation of soccer stars. Kids ages 2 and up can have fun on the field at indoor and outdoor classes.


Local Recreation Center

Detroit Parks and Recreation Department has a six-week youth soccer league for $35 and it includes a uniform and shinguard! Most Parks and Recreation Departments offer youth soccer at affordable rates, check out your local rec center to see what clinics and leagues are available.


i9 Sports

i9 Sports soccer offers a one-day a week curriculum that allows your child to develop the fundamentals of the game as well as build on their skills as they grow. With over 20 locations in metro Detroit, you can easily find a location that fits your schedule.


Oakland Yard

Oakland Yard in Waterford offers learn to play leagues and clinics for boys and girls ages 3 to 5th grade.


Royal Oak Football Club

Royal Oak FC is the 3rd largest club in the state of Michigan, providing a recreational program as well as a premier program. The mission of the recreational program is to enable players to learn the game of soccer in a fun and stimulating environment. Programs are available for ages 3 & up.


Total Sports Complex
Five Total Sports Complexes in metro Detroit offer Lil’ Kickers soccer program for 50 minutes of highly creative, high energy and age-appropriate activities.

YMCA

At the Y kids learn basic soccer skills using age-appropriate equipment and participating in fun drills that teach fundamental soccer skills. As players develop, coaches work with the kids on the idea of team play and basic strategy.
