Light up the dark nights with some Christmas magic. From a stroll through the zoo to a carriage ride on the trail or a comfortable car ride – here are some places to take in holiday lights in metro Detroit.
WAYNE COUNTY LIGHTFEST (WESTLAND)
November 16 – December 24
Put on your favorite Christmas playlist and go for a ride down Hines Drive. The timeless tradition offers five miles of holiday lights displays for only $5 per car!
MAGIC LIGHTS (CLARKSTON)
November 17 – December 30
Put on your favorite Christmas album and take in a dazzling drive-through holiday lights experience. The 1 1/2 mile path will feature over one million lights on spectacular displays to bring your favorite holiday themes and characters to life.
WINTERFEST STROLL (TAYLOR)
December 15 – December 23
Visit Heritage Park to see full-building projections, more than 100 lighted Christmas trees, larger-than-life characters and more than 200,000 holiday lights as Heritage Park becomes a true winter wonderland. Each weekend will bring a new theme and story to life.
WILD LIGHTS (ROYAL OAK)
November 24 – January 7
The Detroit Zoo will be aglow for 32 magical nights with more than five million LED lights illuminating trees, buildings and over 280 sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo. Experience the magic of the Detroit Zoo in winter as you take in the lights, sights and sounds of the season for guests of all ages. Children younger than 2 are admitted free.
WINTER WONDERLIGHTS (ROCHESTER)
November 24– December 30
It’s a dazzling experience 90 years in the making. Spark your family’s newest holiday tradition at Meadow Brook’s Winter Wonder Lights. An interactive and imaginative light experience unlike any other in the state, Winter Wonder Lights transports you to an enchanted world of lights and magic.
THE BIG, BRIGHT LIGHT SHOW (ROCHESTER)
November 20 – January 21
You are invited to brighten your holidays in Downtown Rochester with The Big, Bright Light Show! The buildings in downtown Rochester will be covered with more than 1 million points of glimmering holiday light. The display will be lit every evening (5 pm – Midnight) through January 3, 2021. Most stores are open Monday – Saturday, until 9 pm.

An immersive wintry experience for all ages. Visit Michigan’s original illuminated forest this holiday season! One mile outdoor path with interactive, story moments, and other entertainment. New features added regularly!
LIGHTS ON THE LAKE (LAKE ORION)

Lights on the lake is a holiday light display in Lake Orion MI started in 2015. The light display contains approximately 15,000 led lights is synchronized to holiday music using approximately 4000 computer controlled channels. Donations are accepted and benefit the “Let Them Play” program of the Daisy Project whose mission is to help families with special needs children obtain medical and recreational equipment that is not otherwise covered by insurance.
TRAIL OF LIGHTS (DAVISON)
December 8-10, 15-17, 21-23
You won’t want to miss this great holiday event. We have decked the trails at Robert Williams Nature and Historical Learning Center with thousands of holiday lights! Even more than last year! Horse Drawn Wagon Rides through the magical Trail of Lights will take place on December 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 21st, 22nd & 23rd.This fun evening will include horse drawn wagon rides through the Trail of Lights, holiday music, hot chocolate and a take home craft. Unfortunately this year due to COVID Santa will not be available for pictures.
BLOSSOM HEATH PARK + PIER (ST.CLAIR SHORES)

If you’re looking for places to take a magical stroll on the eastside, head to Blossom Health in St. Clair Shores. The park has a lighted arch guiding you to the pier for rooftop views of the water and beautifully decorated trees to admire. 1003wnic is streaming too so you can sing along to all your favorite Christmas Songs! You’ll also want to stop by St. Clair Shores Park. The park is aglow with white lights on the trees, portico and bridge for a picture perfect winter wonderland. Admission is FREE and there’s plenty of parking but no bathrooms.
BOSTICK FAMILY LIGHT SHOW (GARDEN CITY)
December – Opening Date TBA
Drive by 29195 Sheridan Street in Garden City and turn the radio to 95.1FM for a one of a kind neighborhood holiday light show. A family favorite of ours, the Bostick Family puts on a great show and this year’s soundtrack includes songs from Michael Buble, Frozen 2, Star Wars and more!
RICKARD HOLIDAY LIGHT SHOW (GRAND BLANC)
December – Opening Date TBA
Take a weekend trip to Grand Blanc and check out the Rickard Light Show between 7pm and 9pm. Just pull up and tune your radio to 87.9FM. Bring your letter for Santa with a return address and you’ll get a reply!
