TOP LIGHT SHOWS HAPPENING IN METRO DETROIT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

A tunnel of Christmas lights adds a bright note to a festive village outdoor display

Light up the dark nights with some Christmas magic. From a stroll through the zoo to a carriage ride on the trail or a comfortable car ride – here are some places to take in holiday lights in metro Detroit.

 

Starry Lights @ Ford House (Grosse Pointe)

Illuminate your holidays with Starry Lights, an all-new winter light walk at Ford House, including an immersive and interactive display on the grounds of the estate. Walk through the historic estate’s pathways to experience a wintry starry-sky-themed show of light and sound, featuring projected animations, interactive features, and even vintage home videos of Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s family.

  • Dates: November 18 – January 9
  • Admission: $12-20

The Gift of Lights (Lambertville)

This holiday season enjoy the beauty of lights in the warmth of your car at Indian Creek Zoo.

  • Dates: November 12 to January 2
  • Admission: $20 – $25

Wayne County Lightfest (Westland)

Put on your favorite holiday playlist and drive through the Hines Drive light show.

  • Dates: November 18 – December 31
  • Admission: $5 per car

Magic of Lights (Clarkston)

Put on your favorite holiday playlist and drive through the Hines Drive light show.

  • Dates: November 19 – January 1
  • Admission: $20-$25 per car

Wild Lights (Royal Oak):

The Detroit Zoo will be aglow for 40 magical nights with more than five million LED lights illuminating trees, buildings and over 280 sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo. Experience the magic of the Detroit Zoo in winter as you take in the lights, sights and sounds of the season for guests of all ages.

  • Dates: November 20 – January 9
  • Admission: $17 – $24

Wonderland of Lights (Lansing):

Thousands of lights create an extraordinary holiday display at the 27th annual Wonderland of Lights! Take a stroll around the zoo, enjoy holiday music, and marvel at the twinkling light displays during this series of magical Michigan winter evenings. Grab a goodie bag for children as you leave to take home and enjoy.

  • Dates: November 22 – January 3
  • Admission: $5 – $9

Big Bright Light Show (Rochester):

You are invited to brighten your holidays in Downtown Rochester with The Big, Bright Light Show! The buildings in downtown Rochester will be covered with more than 1 million points of glimmering holiday light. The display will be lit every evening beginning 5pm.

  • Dates: November 20 – December 26
  • Admission: FREE

Holiday Stroll (Lake Orion):

Canterbury Village transforms to a winter wonderland where you stroll through the quaint Village that is glowing with almost a million festive lights, enjoy a 7-minute amazing light show choreographed to classic holiday songs, and enjoy the sounds of professional carolers, and live Christmas performances.

  • Dates: November 24 – December 23
  • Admission: $14.99

Winter Wonder Lights (Rochester) 

Pairing indoor sights with outdoor lights, Meadow Brook is Michigan’s most dazzling holiday destination. Our two unforgettable holiday events will delight families, couples and people of all ages. Winter Wonder Lights transforms the estate at night into a breathtaking light show featuring music, concessions and magic.

  • Dates: November 26 to December 30
  • Admission: $12 – $22

Glenlore Trails Aurora (Commerce)

An immersive wintry experience for all ages. Visit Michigan’s original illuminated forest this holiday season! One mile outdoor path with interactive, story moments, and other entertainment. New features added regularly!

  • Dates: November 26 to January 2
  • Admission: $15 – $25

Trail of Lights (Davison)

Take a horse drawn carriage ride through the Trail of Lights, holiday music, hot chocolate and a take home craft from the Santa Station.

  • Dates: December 10, 12, 17 & 19
  • Admission: $12 – $15
