10 Things You CAN Do This Weekend

The days may all be a blur, but we can still get excited for the weekend. After a long week at home, spend time outside and take in some fresh air. And if you need some inspiration for things to do with your kids, here are 10 things you CAN do this weekend.
It’s lavender season at Blake’s Farm! Take a trip to Armada to pick lavender (and other seasons produce), indulge in sweet treats and drinks and find other lavender based products.
It’s Kid’s Fishing Derby Day at Heritage Park in Farmington Hills on Saturday.
Chalk the walk at the Ford House. Kids will be given chalk to use on the grounds, go exploring, bring a picnic ad watch the boats on Lake St. Clair.
Register to pick up a FREE Project Play Soccer Kit at Beacon Park on Sunday and have some family fun outside.
Speaking of sports, baseball is back! The Detroit Tigers start the season against the Cincinnati Reds. Listen on the radio or watch on Fox Sports Detroit.
Get creative and sign up for Troy’s Play-Doh Challenge!
Treat the kids and yourself to a new summer recipe from Princess Pinky Girl and check out the popular food blogger’s local favorites in this week’s #MomLife feature.
Try our favorite (and self created) summer drink – Guernsey’s Strawberry Lemonade Slush. Two scoops Guernsey’s strawberry ice cream in a cup, add Guernsey’s lemonade (it really must be Guernsey’s lemonade) and blend with a spoon (not a mixer). Add a straw and cool down with a delicious strawberry lemonade slush.
Go to the Drive-In!
- Daily – The Karate Kid & Zootopia @ Summer Drive-In (Plymouth)
- Friday – Toy Story @ Taylor Sportsplex
- Saturday – Secret Life of Pets 2 @ Willow Metropark
