10 Things to Do with Kids in Metro Detroit this Weekend

The days may all be a blur but the weekends are a time to refresh. Save time scrolling and check out this list of fun family activities you can do this weekend.
It’s March and Maple Sugar season. Dozens of nature centers and farms are having maple sugar events this weekend – we’ll be at MSU Tollgate’s Maplefest Sunday! Here are even more ideas about fun things to do with kids in March.
We love FREE! Stop by Cranbrook Institute of Science on Friday and enjoy free admission.
March is National Reading Month and a great excuse to bring the kids to Detroit. Take a photo in front of the Lorax House, search for little Libraries around town (including a TARDIS themed one in Woodbridge), visit the Main Detroit Public Library in Midtown and pick out new reads at a local book store.
Autorama is in the Motor City this weekend. Check out the classic Hot Rod show at the former COBO Hall.
Get tickets to Trolls LIVE and sing and dance with Poppy, Branch and your other favorite trolls.
While you’re in the city, stop by this week’s #MomLife feature Samantha’s favorite – the Michigan Science Center! You can also show your support by voting for them in USA Today’s Best Science Museum contest.
Watch TEAM USA Hockey play with your favorite pups. Paw Patrol will be at the Friday night game, get a $50 family bundle that includes 4 tickets to the game and a $10 Dave & Buster’s Gift Card. Future hockey stars can Try Hockey For Free at USA Hockey Arena on Saturday, March 5th at 10:30am. Ages 4 to 9 are welcome.
Catch figure skating Olympians at Campus Martius on Saturday as Figure Skating In Detroit closes out The Rink for the season with ‘Skating with the Stars’. Enjoy performances by local and national talent and strap on skates to join Olympian Meryl Davis on the ice.
Hit a different rink and strap on some roller skates for throwback fun with the kids – here are the best roller rinks in metro Detroit.
Spring Break is right around the corner. If you need somewhere for the kids to go when school is out, check out our guide to Spring Break Camps.
