10 Things You CAN Do This Weekend

The days may all be a blur, but we can still get excited for the weekend – especially Memorial Weekend! Make the most of the unofficial start of summer with these 10 things you CAN still do this weekend.

Put on patriotic colors and dress your house up too! Create sidewalk art for your neighbors, paint your glass door or hang decorations in your window ( try these Popsicle star streamers).

Soak up the sun and pull out the beach toys because the beaches at Kensington, Lake St. Clair and Stony Creek Metroparks will be open.

Prefer to cool down at home? Pick up a splash pad from the store for your backyard (and enter to win one from us!).

Try a new family sport and play disc golf at the Metroparks too. Use frisbees from home or order some for curbside pick up from Dick’s Sporting Goods.

This week’s #MomLife series featured Laura from  @mom_on_a_mitten on Instagram. She loves taking her daughter to Cranbrook Gardens and Belle Isle, and you will too!

Have some virtual family fun with a Challenge Island STEAM Adventure on Saturday afternoon.

Memorial Parades have been cancelled but you can be festive! Decorate your bikes for a family ride in your neighborhood.

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day because families would bring flowers and flags to graves of soldiers. Carry on the tradition and leave a flag, flowers or token at a local war memorial (click here to find one near you)

Turn on the grill and get ready for some good eats!
