Take your car lovers to The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan and check out their new permanent exhibit Driven to Win: Racing in America beginning Saturday, March 27th. It is truly a must-see for all families. With nearly two dozen new cars, 24 interactive spaces and multiple racing simulators, kids and parents will have a blast.

You don’t have to be a car lover to LOVE this new exhibit. Driven to Win transforms The Henry Ford and takes you through the twists and turns of American racing history and introduces you to the men and women who engineered world-changing innovations and defined the sport of racing.

For the best experience, go straight to the multi-sensory theater and watch Fueled by Passion. The 15 minute film tells the story of 5 people in racing is shown in a state of the art 180-degree theater with gamer seats, LED lights and (loud – a responsible warning if you have little kids) live action sound. The thrilling, action packed video is fun and educational, leaving you with a greater appreciation for the cars on display.

Outside the theater, is the Igniting the Passion hands-on display that lets your kids race cars down a hilly ramp. My littles loved it and you’ll probably have to drag them away.

Older kids will LOVE the In the Driver’s Seat, 15-minute simulator experience. This high-tech gamer circle gives guests the chance to drive the world’s fastest cars on the most challenging tracks on six interlinked, full-motion racing simulators with the latest technologies — just like the modern pros use for training. Strap in for high-octane exhilaration. There’s an additional fee required but it’s a fun activity – and a really cool birthday party idea.

The Henry Ford museum is open daily from 9:30am to 5pm. Admission to the Henry Ford is $25 for adults and $19 for children ages 5 to 11. We highly recommend getting a membership because it pays for itself if you visit the Museum and Greenfield Village one in a year.
