Dinosaurs are timeless favorites. If your kids can’t get enough of the prehistoric creatures, here are the best places to find dinosaurs throughout Metro Detroit during the year and at special events this summer!
Buckle up and get ready for a drive-thru adventure! The Dino Safari is heading to the Suburban Collection Showplace from June 11th to July 5th. See everything from the mighty T. rex of North America to the gigantic amphibious Spinosaurus from Africa from the safety of your car on this adventure for the whole family!
Jurassic Quest is back and bigger than ever. The drive-thru dinosaur event is perfect for all ages and will be at DTE Energy Music Theatre June 18th to July 4th. There are nearly a hundred dinosaurs to see (and hear) and no heavy lifting, tired child, or run away baby to worry about! Our boys absolutely loved it and your kids will too.
Find indoor fun for all ages at Dinoland. The indoor playground is dinosaur themed and lots of fun. The ball pit is regularly sanitized and LOTS of fun – you can even do dino target practice on the upper level.
This brand new dinosaur themed fun center offers interactive arcade games, laser tag, bumper cars, toddler play area, play structure and virtual reality attractions. There’s also a large T-Rex to greet you at the door.

Cranbrook Institute of Science (Bloomfield Hills)
Before you even make it inside the building your littles will be excited to meet Steggy (a life-size stegosaurus at the museum entrance). The popular dinosaur has been bringing smiles to faces for years. Inside the museum you don’t have to go far before you find a giant T-Rex.
University of Michigan Museum of Natural History (Ann Arbor)
The Natural History Museum was recently renovated and it s a fantastic FREE place to see life-sized dinosaur bones; however, it is currently closed to the public. Keep it on your radar and make sure it’s on your to-visit list.
Stage Nature Center is a popular exploration site and the interpretive building has a Mastodon Dig site, filled with rubber mulch, Mastodon replica bones, shovels, boulders and brushes. It is currently closed to the public but a place you’ll want to keep on your radar.
The dinosaurs are coming! In May, Canterbury Village transformed into the Mesozoic Era and guests strolled through an outdoor Dinosaur adventure to get up close and personal with almost 100 life-like creatures, reptiles and life-size dinosaurs, with most standing over 30 feet tall and spanning over 40 feet long, including T-Rex, Velociraptors and Stegosaurus. If you missed it at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion, get tickets to see it at Delta Plex in Grand Rapids (June 19 & 20).
