If you need to change up your park routine, here are a few hidden gem neighborhood parks your kids will love.

 

Greenwood Park (Livonia) 

The neighborhood playground, has no parking lot (or restrooms) but the street was easy to park on. It has a little paved walking path to enter it’s great because the kids can’t run away – also a couple in ground picnic tables too! Kids will love driving the truck, climbing ‘trees’, going for a spin and racing down slides

Gainsboro Park (Pleasant Ridge)

A popular neighborhood play spot, Gainsboro Park has a variety of modern play equipment kids will love and a bridge they can race across and hide (but not from grown-ups) under. Located along a dead end street parking is limited but it’s easy to keep the kids close by. Bonus: There are bathrooms.

Sullivan Park (Royal Oak)

Perfect for littles of all ages, our kids LOVED visiting Sullivan Park. With a zip line, twister merri-go-round, climbing ropes, circular spinners and creative play equipment – it was so cool to see features here that you don’t usually see at playgrounds. Another beauty of Sullivan Park is that there is a dedicated play space for the littlest of kids to enjoy, along with several features to keep your older ones active.

Ben Hadley Park (Sterling Heights)

Ben Hadley is a 3 acre, ADA accessible playground that has cool rope features for little climbers. Take a stroll or scoot around the paved circular trail and

Northwest Park (Taylor)

Northwest Park has a new play structure that is great for climbers and has two fast slides. There are permanent gaming stations – including foosball. Bring a tiny ball from home to play and a basketball too for one-on-one on the courts. Stroll the paved trail to the older play structure that’s fun for all ages. And pack your swimsuits for a splash in the community pool.

Mollicone Park (Detroit)

If you love beautiful houses and quaint neighborhoods, head to the Villages. Pick out a treat at Sister Pie in West Village, then drive to Indian Village for playtime at Mollicone Park. There’s a two story wooden house for the kids to climb, swings and a large rope web climber. The park is lined with large rocks kids will love to climb too.
