Huron-Clinton Metroparks has 13 parks across southeast Michigan and Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township is one you don’t want to miss.

Stony Creek Metropark is a 4,435 acre park offering year round recreation. Whether you want to play a round of disc golf, explore a nature trail, spend time fishing, boating or a fun filled day at the beach, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Eastwood Beach has everything you need for a perfect beach day – sandy beach along Stony Creek Lake, a 50-foot tall 230-foot long Quadzilla Slide, large modern playground, boat rentals and regular special events. The Quadzilla Slide is open on weekends from 11am to 8pm and costs $2 per ride or $10 for an all day wristband.

Bring your tent or camper and plan overnight stay at Ridgewood Campground. The large rustic sites feature fire rings, restrooms on site, beautiful scenery and cost $25 for a regular site and $50 for a large site.

Admission to Huron-Clinton Metroparks is $10 per vehicle for a daily fee or $40 for an annual vehicle pass for residents of Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne county. Park passes grant admission to ALL 13 Metropark locations. Use your library card and get FREE admission with the Michigan Activity Pass.

Fridays

During the Metropark’s Summer Concert Series you can get up and dance or sit back and relax listening to different local bands. Friday night concerts are held at Stony Creek Metropark’s Eastwood Beach from 7pm to 8:30pm.

Saturdays

Enjoy a Stories In The Shade on select dates. During the outdoor program, your child will explore nature through a book, activities and a craft. Bring a blanket and enjoy the cool shade of a tree as your child discovers the worlds of caterpillars, frogs, fireflies and more.

Stay up late an watch your favorite films under the stars at Movies In The Parks.  Stony Creek Metropark will host a drive-in style movie in August and September.

Sundays

Each Sunday from 1pm to 3pm, visit the Stony Creek Nature Center to see specially curated animal exhibits and hands-on activities. The Nature Center is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 1pm to 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm. In addition to nature exhibits you can also take a self-guided tour of nature trails.
