Yates Cider Mill’s Ice Cream Shoppe opens for the season on Friday, April 16th and if you’ve never had a donut sundae, add it to your spring bucket list.
Yates Cider Mill is one of the most popular destinations in metro Detroit and a runaway LittleGuide audience favorite in Rochester. The 150 year old cider mill is very popular and busy, there’s usually a line but it’s worth it. Order donuts and cider to go and enjoy quiet time relaxing under the trees or at a picnic table with a special ice cream treat.
Be sure to take a stroll down the 3/4 mile long trail along the River. You can also take a 10 minute stroll along the sidewalk of 23 Mile Road to Gene Shepherd Park to let the kids play on the firetruck themed playground. During the summer months, Shelby Township and Utica residents and their guests can run around the splash pad. Other fun local destinations are:
- Bloomer Park
- Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve
- Rochester Municipal Playground
- Van Hoosen Farm Children’s Garden
Address: 1990 E Avon Rd, Rochester, MI 48307
