Despite our deepest desires to burrow in and hibernate for the winter, our kids seem to be numb to the cold and excited to get out and enjoy the winter wonderland that Michigan brings every year. Beverly Hills Village Park (Beverly Hills)

Come out and enjoy 34 acres of winter fun, including a sled hill, skating rink and trails for hiking or cross country skiing. And on the fourth Sunday in January, you can enjoy all of these activities and more, with warm drinks, snacks and fun by the fire.
Booth Park Sled Hill (Birmingham)
Booth Park is located at the southwest intersection of Old Woodward and Harmon, north of the Rouge River branch. Its features include an expansive playscape, a labyrinth and tunnel, turf hill/amphitheater, during the winter months an area for sledding, rain garden, stabilized stream banks, native plantings, a trail connecting to the Rouge River Trail, and open green space. While the hill may not be huge, it’s perfect size for your little riders. And with a playground at the foot of the hill, it’s guaranteed fun!
Lincoln Hills Golf Course (Birmingham)

Lincoln Hills Golf Course offers sledding and cross country skiing from 10 AM – 5 PM, weather permitting. Call the clubhouse at 248.530.1670 for daily updates.
Civic Center Sled Hill (Clinton Township)

At the foot of the Outdoor Adventure Center, overlooking the Ren Cen, is a great big hill ripe for all ages to enjoy the outdoor fun of sledding at Milliken State Park! For bunny hills head to the new Robert Valade Park a farther down the Riverfront. There’s easy parking for both!
Balduck Park (Detroit)

Right at the border of Detroit and Grosse Pointe lies a nice sized hill ready for some winter action.
Shiawassee Park (Farmington)

Amongst the most popular hills in the Oakland County area, this hill offers a safe environment with hay bales, walking paths and fences, along a wide and long hill to sled.
Heritage Park Sled Hill (Farmington)

Prominently located within the 211-acre park is a great sledding hill in the heart of Farmington Hills. This park offers trails for cross-country skiing, a Visitor Center for warming and an in-line hockey rink.
Vernier Hill (Grosse Pointe)
Vernier Hill has been a winter sports destination for the Pointes since the 1960s.
Greenmead Historical Park (Livonia)
When you need a sledding hill, Greenmead offers a 360 hill top located at the entrance of the nature trail or visitors can use the parking lot south of the park’s Newburg entrance. The hill is the perfect size – big enough for fun rides but not too big for tired legs. If you’re looking for a larger and steeper hill head to Fox Creek Golf Course down the road. The municipal grounds offer free sledding access.
Civic Center Park (Madison Heights)

Easy parking, picnic pavilions and a large sled hill, this is one of the area’s top hills to hit come the winter days.

Take advantage of a snowy day by racing down the hills at Kensington Metropark’s winter sports area. Coast down a variety of hills, from beginner to advanced. A short “bunny hill” designated for younger sledders features padded trees for added safety. The toboggan runs, sledding, and beginner snowboarding hills are located at the Orchard picnic area. - Lake Erie Metropark (Brownstown)

Bring your sleds or saucers to slide down the sledding hill in the Meadowlark Picnic Area at Indian Springs Metropark. It’s a great hill for younger kids.
Cass Benton Park (Northville)
Cass Benton, one of the oldest and more hilly areas of Hines Park, and during the winter months, Cass Benton hill is very popular spot for sledding.
Shepherd Park/Hamilton Hill (Oak Park)

Lost Lake Nature Park (Oakland)

This park is located at 846 Lost Lake Trail, south of Predmore Road, between Kline and Rochester Roads. Parking is available in the 40+ space lot and asphalt paths are available to walk on. Trail hiking is limited, but if you’re up for a challenge, walk up the sledding hill to one of Oakland Township’s highest points. Warming shelter also available. Sled Hill Open Daily form 10am – 5pm. Friday & Saturdays open until 9pm.
Jesse Decker Park Sled Hill (Orion)

With 24.65 acres of land, Jesse Decker Park is the newest Orion Township community park constructed in 2009. It is located in the southeast corner of the Township on Squirrel Road south of Silverbell Road and offers a steep (which equals fast) sledding hill!
Brandon Township Community Park Sledding Lift (Ortonville)

The sledding hill at the park is available for use during park hours. The sledding hill’s motorized lift station operates on non-holiday Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weather permitting and is free to use.
Bloomer Park Sled Hill (Rochester)

This fan favorite in Rochester offers three different sledding hills with pathways to walk up in between, convenient for all ages and levels. Both sledding and tobogganing are available at this hill. Heated restrooms are also on-site.
Borden Park (Rochester Hills)

It’s not a clearly designed as a sledding hill as the other options, but hey, on a snowy winter day, it does the trick!
Delia Park (Sterling Heights)

Waterford Oaks (Waterford)

In the summer, it is one of your favorite waterparks, but in the winter, it hosts a family friendly sledding hill open daily for your enjoyment.
Marshbank Park (West Bloomfield)

This park recently went through a renovation that included a new hill specifically contoured for winter sledding and fire pits perfect for smores!
Hines Drive Sledding Hill (Westland)

Civic Center Park (Woodhaven)

Woodhaven has a dedicated sled hill at Civic Center Park. There are other cool amentities too including a skating rink and hockey rink.
Rolling Hills Park (Ypsilanti)

Rolling Hills Park is open year-round and offers various activities to enjoy during the winter months. In winter, the park features a sledding hill, a half mile of cleared walking trail, three miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. (weather permitting). Winter equipment is available for rent.
