New Center Park Returns with FREE Family Movies this Summer

There’s nothing like summer in the city. Make a splash at Mt. Elliott Splash Pad on the Riverfront, find fun and games at Monroe Street Midway and stay up late to watch FREE movies at New Center Park in Detroit!
New Center Park, located across the street from the Fisher Building on Grand Boulevard is the perfect place for outdoor entertainment. This summer, the popular movie series is back with a line-up of family-friendly and date night films on Friday. Take the kids out for a special night on the town, surrounded by the stars and tall buildings, watching their favorite characters on screen with their favorite people beside them. Don’t worry, restrooms and plenty of easy access street parking are available.

On the final weekend of July, the park will host FREE performances of Rapunzel by Black and Brown Theatre. Black and Brown Theatre presents a timeless story with a timely twist as both heroes go on an adventure to discover who they truly are. Bring the whole family for a live performance of the classic story of Rapunzel told entirely in rhyming verse couplets as we celebrate finally being able to “break free”. Shows are 30 to 45 minutes long on Friday, July 29th at 8pm and Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st at 2pm and 4pm.
