Moms are our heroes, they are our rocks and they deserve to be celebrated each and every day, but on Sunday, May 12, 2019, let’s plan an extra special day just for them! From brunches and afternoon teas, to dinners and dances, make it a day for her to remember.

 

MOTHER SON DANCE

May 3 & 4 

@ Summit Canton

Celebrate Mother’s Day in a special way. Moms, Aunts, Grandmothers and more are welcome for an evening of dancing and memory-making. There will be light refreshments and a popular balloon-drop finale!

 

MOTHER’S DAY TEA PARTY

Friday, May 3 

@ RARA Recreation Center, Rochester

Come to RARA on your child’s half day off school to enjoy a tea party with mom, a female family member, or female role model! At this tea party, we will enjoy delicious tea along with cookies, along with a spring themed craft will be completed at the beginning of the party to take home to remember this great experience together. Come dressed in your best tea party attire – we will provide artist smocks that will help in protecting your clothing from getting messy from the craft.

This jam-packed event will begin with a dinner and end with a “dirt” dessert specially prepared by the boys for their Mom. In between is where the adventure begins as participants will explore a variety of activities put on by Nature Center Staff and L.L. Bean including archery, outdoor games, a chance to launch items from a giant slingshot , and more!

In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Lolë Yoga Meet-Up, presented by Gazelle Sports, is a FREE, 60-minute outdoor afternoon yoga session. Attendees also are invited to come early and stay late to shop Gazelle’s Lolë’ active lifestyle collection. The event is for moms-and-daughters, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, girlfriends and more. No previous yoga experience is necessary, and all fitness levels are encouraged to attend.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at the Detroit Zoo! This year’s Mother’s Day Brunch will be held in the Main Picnic Grove and features a delicious brunch buffet and a gift for mom. A Bloody Mary and mimosa cash bar will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Walk-up tickets will be available if the event is not sold out; however, advance ticket purchase is recommended. Pre-sold tickets will include admission to the Zoo; walk-up tickets will not.

This guided hike will introduce you to some of the wildflowers and birds found along the Indian Springs Metropark nature trails. Wear sturdy walking shoes and plan to be outdoors for about an hour on a gravel trail. Once we return, families can enjoy a nice glass of lemonade and a cookie together!

 

MOTHER’S DAY WILDFLOWER HIKE

Treat the mothers and mother figures in your life to a guided wildflower hike through Black Pond Woods and the LSNC grounds, or take the hike yourself in their honor! We’ll find lovely blooms popping up through the grass or sprouting on the forest floor.
