Meet Katie
Hello, I am Katie Romant, wife to my best friend and husband Andrew, mom to Jackson (4), Caroline (2.5), and our fur baby Stanley and most recently the Founder and Owner of TinkerTots Boxes! I love nothing more than being with family and friends, celebrating the holidays, planning parties, and vacation time Up North!
I launched TinkerTots Boxes a little over a year ago and have enjoyed the adventure of being a momtrepreneur! TinkerTots Boxes is a monthly subscription box service created for toddlers, geared for ages 2-5. Every month new and exciting activities will be delivered right to your doorstep. Each box includes 5 hands-on, educational activities. All materials and easy to follow instructions are provided to bring you quality time with your children without the prep-work. Each of the activities is individually packaged to keep those busy, little hands entertained at a moment’s notice!
Favorite Ways To Spend Family Time:
- Long walks around town
- Summers in Northern Michigan on the beach
- Backyard fun: bubbles, kiddie pools, sidewalk chalk – the simple things that bring so much joy!
Favorite Places To Go:
Favorite Bedtime Stories:
- The Pout-Pout Fish By Deborah Diesen
- The Octopuppy By Martin McKenna
- Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? By Bill Martin, Jr.
Favorite Recipes:
Best Park/Playground: Heritage Park (Farmington Hills)
Our favorite park is Heritage Park in Farmington Hills. They have the most amazing splash pad that our kids LOVE in the summertime and the cutest snack shack to grab a special treat on those hot summer days!
Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (Detroit)
We love attending the Thanksgiving Day Parade in downtown Detroit to kick off the holidays. We started this tradition for our family a few years ago and get so excited about it every year. The floats, balloons, and music are fantastic and of course, the children love seeing Santa!
Your Mom Must-Have: A Good Stroller
We are on the go very often and it helps to have a good quality stroller that is easy to fold up and go. We love our City Select, side by side, double stroller. Both of our children can fit in it comfortably and makes running around town and traveling much easier!
Best Winter Destination: Harbor Springs
Petoskey/Harbor Springs area for skiing, sledding, and winter fun! We love escaping to this area of Michigan for a long weekend in the wintertime. It’s beautiful with the snow and all the ski resorts are very family-friendly which we love.
“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: TinkerTots Boxes
Launching my own business! I am very proud of myself for taking this leap and making my idea a reality. Knowing that our boxes help simplify an aspect of parenting and bring children joy makes all the hard work worth it!
