Do you need ideas for activities to do with kids? Tried and true suggestions that real moms actually do? Here they are! We’re asking families to share their favorites, to help you find yours.

Are you following @olivejuiceandelephantshoes on Instagram? Bree is the co-owner of The Art Attic which is a truly magical local farm that’s a little bit artsy, a little bit country, and a whole lot of fun for kids and parents alike. Past #momlife feature Rachel put The Art Attic on our radar and we are forever grateful because we are in LOVE! Bree and her sister have created a family-friendly outdoor oasis for fun kids events, hands-on art classes, yoga for littles, and the most adorable sensory art kits that are so popular they sell out weekly! Be sure to follow along @theartatticplymouth to snatch up your own art kit and join in on the family fun down at the farm!

Meet Bree

Hi, I’m Bree! Mom to Olive, 4, two dogs, two cats, one bunny, nine chickens, and about 100 fish! My husband and I are both from Plymouth and always knew this is where we wanted to stay and build our life. Now, we are living and working at our family farmhouse in Plymouth Township. My sister (Jen) and I own The Art Attic, which started as a small children’s art studio in downtown Plymouth. We moved here to the farmhouse in February (right before the craziness started.) We now offer all types of outdoor classes and workshops for children and adults, as well as art kits to keep the kiddos busy

Favorite Ways To Spend Family Time:

Favorite Places To Go:

Favorite Bedtime Stories:

Favorite Dinner Recipes:

Best Park/Playground: Plymouth Township Park

Plymouth Township Park (or “the big park” as Olive calls it) is our favorite!! There are two different playground areas, a splash pad, a pretty pond, and walking paths. You could pack a picnic and spend the day for sure.

Your Mom Must Have: Snacks

Always have snacks… this isn’t just for mom life, it’s for life in general. People are happier when they aren’t hungry.

Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: Plymouth Fall Festival

It’s not happening this year…but it has always been a hit for all of us. Rides for everyone, face painting, beautiful fall weather, and all the yummy carnival food you can eat! If you go on Sunday, they also have a chicken dinner that will keep you coming back every year.

Best Fall Destination: Three Cedars Farm (Northville)

Three Cedars Farm, hands down. They have ALL the fall essentials and fun things to do: hayrides, playscapes, petting farm, corn pool to play in, a small train to ride, and of course delicious cider and doughnuts!

“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Being a proud mom + business owner

Let’s be real, mom life is hard stuff, so I feel proud almost every day looking at that little bean we’re raising. Being a business owner of a business that I absolutely love is also a huge deal for me. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. For so many years (and jobs) prior to this, I just didn’t think it was actually possible to have a career you loved.
