Meet Nicolle

Hi! I am Nicolle Filipek, wife to Raymond and #boymom to twins Raymond & Brady who are 6, and Max who is 3! I have worked at a small family-owned CPA firm for the last 10 years. Being a mom to three wild and crazy boys life is never dull. We love to go to Disney World, up north and Great Wolf Lodge are some of our favorite places to travel.

I had a hard time with twin two-year-olds and a newborn at home and I felt like everyone on social media was just showing how perfect their life was, and I felt like I was doing something wrong. I found these moms from Canada who would do Facebook Lives and show what mom life really was like and I knew we needed more of that. I wanted to show moms all sides of motherhood, not just the highlight reel and also when life is hard to still enjoy it. I love to create memories with my boys and do all the things with them. I feel like when moms are in a hard season they skip the activities because it’s too hard. I want to show them to take the trips, do the activities and make sure they create those memories.

Favorite Ways To Spend Family Time:

  • Friday movie night
  • One on one time with each boy
  • Goldfish Swim School open swim

Favorite Places To Go:

Favorite Bedtime Stories

Favorite Family-Friendly Restaurants:

Best Park/Playground: Wolcott Mill Metropark (Romeo)

I was introduced to Wolcott by a coworker when my boys were toddlers and I felt like it was such a hidden gem. It is a very inexpensive outing and we bring a picnic lunch and spend the day with the animals and my boys love the playground. So much room for them to run around.  Always a must when we need something to do.

Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: Disney On Ice

We are a huge Disney family and it’s a great way to enjoy some of the Disney magic.  I also love to see the boys faces light up when they see their favorite characters.

Your Mom Must-Have: Baby Jogger city mini double stroller

I had a different double stroller with my twins when they were born. When I went to Disney when they were 18 months I rented one and had no idea what I was missing. Came home and added it to my must-have list. My boys are 6 and can still fit in them and we have gotten our money’s worth.

Best Winter Destination or Event: Zehnder’s Snowfest (Frankenmuth)

It was a tradition I started with my husband when we were dating and we are taking my boys this year. Who doesn’t love a trip to Frankenmuth and there is so much to do for their event.

“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Being able to do as much as I can!

Some days are really hard trying to do it all myself, but working from home, running a blog/social media, and doing all the mom things, it’s a lot but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
