Meet Michelle
My name is Michelle Schmidberger and I have three children, Luke (5), Paige (4), and Claire (2). This past December I started the company, Just One Crafty Mama. I sell custom cookies, sensory kits, and specialty signs. I love DIY and making things homemade for my family and yours.
Shortly after having my first little one, I felt like I lost “me”. I went from working a stressful job outside the home to being home alone for long hours with a baby. I loved being home with him but missed the adult interaction and having time for myself. Then when he was only 8-weeks-old I was expecting again! That first year with both babies was pure survival and I lost my whole self. I started to do some crafting and it sparked some joy and realized I need to start “filling my cup, so I can take care of my family”.
Thereafter I would do projects around the house, baking for friends and family’s parties, and creating fun activities for my little ones. I decided last winter to put myself out there and try to make this into a business. So that is when Just One Crafty Mama was born!

Stoney Creek is our favorite, but a bit of a hike now that we moved to Macomb. There are two very interactive areas for different age groups/capabilities.
Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo (Royal Oak)
The kids love the Detroit zoo Christmas lights. They really go all out with their displays and it really shows. The kids are bundled up and get fresh air and get to experience the magic of Christmas!
Your Mom Must-Have: Snacks!!!
Early days, my Maya wrap so I had my hands free for the kids. But now that they are a bit older, snacks, snacks, and snacks! Generally, anytime my kids are fussy or upset, it’s because they are hungry.
Best FALL Destination or Event: Westview Orchards (Washington)
We love all the events held by Westview Orchards! They have the best pumpkins, and the kid’s play area is so cool. The goats and other animals are there to greet and feed. We even go there in the summer to let them run around.
“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Learning a New Skill
When I learn a new skill and master it, this gives me such fulfillment. Recently I just finished redoing my children’s swing set from manufacture to my little farmhouse-inspired kid paradise and am so proud of how it all came together.
