Meet Lexus

My name is Lexus Garmo! I am 29 years old and live in West Bloomfield where my husband Sean and I raise our son and a daughter. Jagger is 22 months old and Lyla is 9 months old. I am a stay at home mom of two kids under two and share my mom life journey through my Instagram page @Lexus_garmo. I am also a liketoknow.it influencer and have an amazon storefront where I share products I use for myself, my kids, and home. Another passion of mine that my blog focuses on is beauty and style.

Favorite Ways To Spend Family Time:

  • Getting in our cozy pajamas and snuggling up on the couch with a blanket and eating yummy snacks while watching a fun family movie!
  • We love taking trips to the mall and enjoying a nice lunch at a restaurant there and afterward getting fruit smoothies or ice cream!
  • Going on a walk on the nature trail in our neighborhood and looking at all of the animals and scenery.

Favorite Recipes:

  • Baked Cornish hens seasoned with olive oil, Mrs. Dash garlic and herb and season salt. I also add red skin potatoes, broccoli, onions, and sweet potatoes!
  • Greek salad that is made with lettuce, cucumbers, chickpeas, feta cheese, black olives, and sweet pickled beets. I use Apolonia natural creamy Greek pink salad dressing.
  • Creamy broccoli soup. I mash up steamed broccoli, minced onions, heavy whipping cream, Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup, and chicken broth.

Best Park/Playground: Scarlet’s Playground (Commerce Township)

We love going to Scarlet’s playground. It has a musical area that Jagger can spend all day playing with! It also has an accessible merry-go-round, zip-lines, and swings all on a special rubber surface. There are many different slides too. Through the playground, there are many little areas for the kids to use their fine motor skills like color wheels and steering wheels. This is a barrier-free playground that even features a long ramp to make it accessible for those in wheelchairs.

Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: Birmingham Village Fair (Birmingham)

Every year we attend the Birmingham Village Fair. This is our favorite because there is so much to do for kids of all ages and adults! We love playing all the fair games like the ball and bucket tosses, balloons and darts, and basketball. Going down the racing slides, the ferris wheel, exploring the fun houses, and riding the bumper cars are more of what we enjoy doing there. Let’s not forget all of the yummy food from corn dogs to popcorn and elephant ears to ice cream, we never got bored attending this fair every year.

Your Mom Must-Have: Kidco Go-Pod Activity Seat

It is suitable for children 4 months-walking. It has been a lifesaver for me and great for indoor and outdoor use! You can adjust it to four different heights so that my little ones always feel comfortable. It includes a master locking system so I always feel great knowing my kids are safe and secure in the seat. Both my kids love sitting in here and it provides nylon loops where I am able to attach their favorite toys and keep them entertained while I have to do something. It also has two cup holders for their snacks and drinks. A bag is also included with it so it has made it so easy for me to take it along wherever I go!

Best Winter Destination or Event: Canterbury Holiday Stroll (Lake Orion)

Canterbury Holiday Stroll was one of our favorite winter events this year because the kids had so much fun getting to share encounters with many of the dancing holiday characters. We got to see a gingerbread man, Snoopy, and characters from Frozen and A Night Before Christmas. There are so many unique displays of lights and decorations that you will want to stop and take pictures in front of everything! At the end, we were able to purchase s’more’s kits and hot chocolate and had a great time roasting them by the fire.

“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Overcoming Hyperemesis Gravidarum

With both pregnancies, I suffered through Hyperemesis gravidarum. This is a severe type of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. A lot of times we don’t know what we are capable of overcoming and come out stronger than we thought. I was also able to share my story and support those few pregnant moms who also had HG. Those women felt they were not alone and were nice for them to hear they have support from others who understand and can help them through their journey!
