Meet Kristin

Hi, my name is Kristin Lenei! I am Mama to my daughter Pearl who is 5 years old and we live in Shelby Twp. I founded Team Glam Detroit in 2018. We are an On-site Hair and Make-up service that brings the luxury of a salon experience to you on your wedding day or special event. Our team consists of 12 amazing artists who are not only talented but driven and passionate about what we do.

Pearl was a couple of years old when I started the business and I was feeling the urge to challenge myself and pursue something I have thought about for a long time. Having a daughter pushed me and reminded me that if I want her to someday chase her dreams then I would need to show her the way…and here we are!

“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Balancing Work + Parenting

My primary goal in being a working mother is achieving balance, it is a constant struggle and work in progress. As Pearl has grown up she now understands (after many talks) what Mommy does, and why I do it. She knows how the team works, and that people depend on us to be there months sometimes years in advance. I’ve explained everyone has a job, and I’m lucky enough to do what I love, and in doing so I hope she in turn will follow suit. She’s been a part of photo shoots, looked at our work in magazines, met clients, looked at beautiful photos of brides on their wedding days, and even watched us on Channel 4 Action News. She’s put the pieces together in each passing year and it’s gotten easier for her. We will FaceTime while I’m on the job, being it’s always women we are servicing, they understand children will always come first.  I think helping children truly understand what we do as working mothers put them at ease as well as sets a great example. I always try to have something fun for us lined up when I get home after weekend bridal parties ending in the early afternoon. Balance!
