Meet Jessica

Hello, my name is Jessica Muzik. I’m married to Richard (Rick James) Muzik and together we have two boys, Andrew (age 10) and Colton (age 8). I’m a vice president – Account Services at Bianchi Public Relations, where I have been for more than 25 years now. Since having children, I’ve had the very best working Mom schedule that has allowed for Fridays off to “adventure” with my fellas.

In addition to this, I have a small photography business I started about 10 years ago. Initially, I planned on taking a few workshops/classes, so that I could take better photos of my firstborn. This led to others asking me to shoot their children, families, and events and so I continued my photography education by mentoring with some of the best photographers in the business.

And in my spare time, I’m the gal behind @justonebitesandsites (a little passion project), where I highlight bites and sites around metro Detroit and beyond with my family. It’s a go-to resource for friends and family that often ask me about where to dine, visit, etc. My hope is that it’ll become a resource for you too.

Favorite Ways To Spend Family Time:

  • Going out to dinner/cooking (We love to eat!)
  • Going on “adventures” in Detroit
  • Traveling locally and internationally

Favorite Places To Go:

Favorite Bedtime Stories

Favorite Family-Friendly Restaurants:

Best Park/Playground: Rotary Tot Lot (Grosse Pointe)

When my boys were younger, the Rotary Tot Lot in Grosse Pointe was one of our favorites, as everything is pint-sized and it’s completely fenced in, so very safe for littles.

Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: Ford House Holiday Events (Grosse Pointe Shores)

We love all of the annual holiday events at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. They also have the most amazing concerts on the lawn overlooking the lake. You can pack a picnic, spread out a blanket, and enjoy the views and music.

Your Mom Must-Have: My Mom Tribe

My tribe, my village. I learned early on that motherhood requires leaning on others. I would be lost without each and every friend and family member that has helped and supported me along the way.

Best Spring Destination or Event: Member Preview Day at Greenfield Village (Dearborn)

We’ve been card-carrying members of The Henry Ford Museum for the past 10 years and we love the Greenfield Village grand opening member event each Spring. And, if it’s a little chilly, we hit the museum and enjoy lunch at Plum Market / Zingerman’s Café.

“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Raising My Kids

Personally, I feel as though I have so much to be proud of. For example, running the New York City Marathon, but in all honesty, raising two genuinely kind and empathetic little souls trumps it all.
