Simple pleasures like hayrides make big memories for little kids. Hop on the hay and enjoy a short ride through the park or the orchard at one of these special events.



Saturday, October 5

@ Oakwoods Metropark, New Boston

Enjoy a leisurely hayride as we point out some of the awesome autumn happenings within the park. We will make a pit-stop for cider and donuts.



Saturday, October 5 – Sunday, October 6

@ MSU Tollgate Farm Children’s Garden, Novi

Come, take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Food, music, farm animals, educational exhibits, and children’s activities all make for a fun fall outing for all ages.

@ Martin Road Park, Ferndale

Ferndale Fall Fest will feature a variety of activities, including games, prizes, hay rides, pony rides, face & pumpkin painting, carnival games, bounce houses, live music, a trick-or-treat trail and more!



Saturday, October 5 & Sunday, October 6

@ Bowers School Farm, Bloomfield Hills 

An open barn event for the whole family! Take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, visit the animal barns, and have fun learning a bit about the history of the farm. Marshmallow roasting, food trucks, and live music!



October 5 & 6, 12, 19 & 20

@ Wolcott Mill Metropark, Ray

Join us for a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out your Halloween pumpkin. On-site pumpkin carving is available. Go through the corn maze. Warm up near the fire and enjoy a cup of cider and a donut. Pumpkins are sold separately at an additional cost.

@ Hess-Hathaway Park, Waterford

Bring the family for Fall fun!  There will be hayrides, crafters, entertainment, historic house tours, food, pumpkin patch, baked goods, and more! Children’s area will be filled with inflatables, rides, historic toys, and make and take crafts.

@ Clawson City Park

Celebrate the beginning of fall with an afternoon of fun with the Parks & Rec Department! The day includes free hayrides, farm animals, free rock-climbing wall and inflatables (don’t forget your socks) and baked goods for sale. The day will end with everyone’s favorite— a bonfire conducted by the Clawson Fire Department.



Tuesday, October 8

@ Heritage Park, Farmington

Hay! Check out these unbe-leaf-able activities! Hayrides, pumpkin painting, hiking, bouncing on the bounce house, touring the fire department’s fire truck, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over Farmington Hills’ largest campfire- all while watching the trees change color.



October 12, 19 & 26

@ Stony Creek Metropark, Shelby Township

Enjoy the brilliant colors of Autumn on a wagon ride through the woodlots and fields.  Learn signs of the season and history of the area.  Afterwards, enjoy cider and donuts at the campfire.

@ Rolling Hills Park, Ypsilanti

There are tons of activities (trek or treat trail, hay rides, carnival games and more) planned for goons and goblins of all ages at the 5th Annual Monster Smash. Costumes encouraged and pets (on leashes) welcome!

@ Hawk Woods Nature Center, Auburn Hills

Enjoy the outdoors this fall and try some great hands-on nature activities for kids: take a hayride, carve a pumpkin, listen to live music, participate in outdoor education stations, enjoy cider and donuts and more! Entry fee for this event is $2 per person, and children 2 and under are free. Pumpkins are available at the event on a first come first served basis for $4-$12 each depending on size.

Join us for an evening of history and folklore as we explore the Huron Township Cemetery, located in Willow Metropark. Begin the evening with an hayride to the cemetery, where the stories of some of those buried there will come-to-life!! This is not a haunted attraction; but an exciting way to learn about some local history.

Join us for a fun day of fall activities, perfect for the whole family.  Enjoy pumpkin painting, face painting, places to explore, hay rides and food vendors. Not to mention a great pumpkin hunt.  There will be prizes for all participants.

@ Wolcott Mill Metropark, Ray

Fun and games await you.  Make a craft and visit our Boo Barn.  Try the relay races and the pumpkin putt-putt.  Take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out your Halloween pumpkin (Pumpkins are an additional cost).  Food available for purchase.  Includes all Pumpkin Patch Wagon Ride and Corn maze activities.

@ Marshbank Park, West Bloomfield

This 20 minute hayride is great for ages 1 and up! Enjoy cider and a seasonal treat following the ride.



Thursday, October 17 & Friday, October 18

@ Marshbank Park, West Bloomfield

Experience the changing seasons at Marshbank Park while enjoying a tractor-drawn hayride. You will learn all about the Michigan plants and animals during a few special stops along the hayride route. Under the picnic shelter, delight in cider and seasonal treats, plus create a fall nature craft to take home.



October 18, 19, 25 & 26

@ Oakwoods Metropark Nature Center, New Boston

After a hayride, a lantern-bearing guide will lead you through the pumpkin-lit woods to encounter various characters and uncanny situations. This tour showcases Michigan’s legends and local history. This is not a haunted attraction.

@ Southfield Pavilion

Kids ages 2-12 are invited to come in costume and ready to have fun! Enjoy creepy crafts, ghoulish games and trick or treating fun throughout the Southfield Pavilion. Hayrides will depart from the Parks & Recreation Building out to the pumpkin patch until 4 pm. The Spooky Skating Party returns to the Southfield Sports Arena from 2:30-3:50 pm. This year The Adventures of Count Spooky magic show will mesmerize guests at Boo Bash with 2 shows at 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

Beacon Park is hosting Family Fun Day: Halloween Edition on Saturday, October 26 from 1 to 5 p.m. Bring your little monsters in costume for a frightfully good time. Stop by for Halloween themed make and take activities, free hayrides, and back by popular demand the 2nd Annual Costume Parade!

You don’t need a special event to find a hayride. Here are some places that offer rides throughout the season.

Blake’s Big Apple // 71485 North Ave, Armada, MI 48005

  • Go on a 25 minute long haunted hayride Fridays-Saturday in October.

Maybury Farm // 50165 W 8 Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167

  • Hop on the wagon and head out to the corn field to travel through the maze.

Wilson Barn // 29350 W Chicago St, Livonia, MI 48150

  • Come to the barn to pick a pumpkin, gourd, or corn stalk to decorate your home throughout October.  Pony rides and hayrides are available everyday, weather permitting.

Heritage Park // 24915 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48336*

  • Heritage Park is hayride central on Fridays from September 20th to November 1st between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Rides leave every half hour.

Kensington Metropark Farm Center // 4570 Huron River Parkway, Mildford, MI 48380*

  • Enjoy a colorful fall hayride to and from our huge pumpkin patch to select your perfect Jack-O-Lantern every day in October.

Corn Fun // 9391 Lindsey, Casco MI 48064

  • Hayrides are Saturdays and Sundays between noon and 6pm.

Three Cedars Farm // 7897 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167 

  • $5.00 a family Hayrides take you around the property back to Corn maze and the U-Pick pumpkin patch.

Wiard’s Orchard // 5565 Merritt Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197 // wagon rides

  • The tractor-drawn hayride through spooky tree-lined pathways lasts approximately 20 minutes, followed by a roaring bonfire.

Erie Orchards & Cider Mill // 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, Michigan 48133*

  • Enjoy an evening hayride at Erie from 3:00pm to 6:00pm every Friday and stop by on the weekends for hayrides during the day.

Deneweth’s Garden Center // 16125 22 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48044 

  • Go on a  Spooky hay ride through the decorated barn on the weekends and enjoy seasonal crafts and fun throughout October.

Blast Corn Maze // 6175 Daly Rd, Dexter, MI 48130

  • U-pick pumpkin patch, explore a corn maze and go on a hayride.

Porter’s Orchard // 12060 Hegel Rd, Goodrich, MI 48438 

  • Starting on Labor Day Weekend, you and your family will be able to tour the beautiful orchard on a hay ride and in October it’s available 7 days a week.
