Simple pleasures like hayrides make big memories for little kids. Hop on the hay and enjoy a short ride through the park or the orchard at one of these special events.



Saturday, September 29 & Saturday, October 6

@ Oakwoods Metropark, New Boston

Enjoy a leisurely hayride as we point out some of the awesome autumn happenings within the park. We will make a pit-stop for cider and donuts.



Tuesday, October 2

@ Heritage Park, Farmington

Hay! Check out these unbe-leaf-able activities: hayrides, pumpkin painting, hiking, bouncing on the bounce house, touring the Fire Department’s fire tuck, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over Farmington Hills largest camp fire, and watching the trees change color. Food, hayrides, and other items will be available for purchase.



October 6, 7, 13, 20 & 21

@ Wolcott Mill Metropark, Ray

Join us for a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out your Halloween pumpkin. On-site pumpkin carving is available. Go through the corn maze. Warm up near the fire and enjoy a cup of cider and a donut. Pumpkins are sold separately at an additional cost.



Saturday, October 6

@ Detroit Curling Club, Ferndale

Ferndale Fall Fest will feature a variety of activities, including games, prizes, hay rides, pony rides, face & pumpkin painting, carnival games, bounce houses, live music, a trick-or-treat trail and more!



Sunday, October 7

@ Hess-Hathaway Park, Waterford

An exciting annual event for the entire family! Hayrides, bake sale, craft vendors, entertainment, historical house tours, food concessions, Children’s area and much more



Saturday, October 13

@ Nankin Mills Recreation Area, Westland

Games, entertainment, hayrides, candy and fun await the children at this FREE special event hosted by Wayne County Parks & Rec at Nankin Mills.



October 13, 20 & 27

@ Stony Creek Metropark, Shelby Township

Enjoy the brilliant colors of Autumn on a wagon ride through the woodlots and fields.  Learn signs of the season and history of the area.  Afterwards, enjoy cider and donuts at the campfire.



Saturday, October 13

@ Hess-Hathaway Park, Waterford

Grab your family and come out to Hess-Hathaway Park for a local color tour on a hayride.  Visit the farm and stroll with one of our farmers on an official animal tour.  The campfire will be warm and ready for roasting marshmallows and making s’mores.  Pumpkins ($2-$4 each), concessions will be available for purchase.

@ River Bends Park, Shelby Townshp

Ghosts, goblins, princesses, pirates and all other costumed kids are invites to join in the fun! We’ll have games and goodies galore, hayrides around the park, plus a visit from Duck Duck Donkey! Each family must bring treats to pass out from their vehicle.



Sunday, October 14

@ Wolcott Mill Metropark, Ray

Fun and games await you at the farm. Make a craft and visit the Boo Barn. Try the relay races and the pumpkin putt-putt. Take a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out your Halloween pumpkin Pumpkins and food are sold separately at an additional cost.

@ Bowers School Farm, Bloomfield Hills 

Fall Festival will include: animal activities, wagon rides, food trucks, live music, bounce houses, face painting, horse riding demonstrations, wool spinning and much more!



Thursday, October 18 & Friday, October 19

@ Marshbank Park

Experience the changing seasons at Marshbank Park while enjoying a tractor-drawn hayride. You will learn all about the Michigan plants and animals during a few special stops along the hayride route. Under the picnic shelter, delight in cider and seasonal treats, plus create a fall nature craft to take home.



Saturday, October 20

@ Crosswinds Marsh Wetland Interpretive Preseve

Join us for Harvest Festival at Crosswinds Marsh. Enjoy a beautiful hayride along a forested trail and gather around the bonfire for kid-friendly stories while enjoying cider, hot chocolate and donuts. You can also demonstrate your pumpkin carving skills, try out our fall crafts and games and even participate in a scavenger hunt.



Saturday, October 20

@ Southfield Pavilion

Kids ages 2-12 years old are invited to come in costume and ready to have some Halloween fun!! Enjoy creepy crafts, ghoulish games and trick or treating fun throughout the Southfield Pavilion. Don’t forget to take the hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin. Hayrides will depart from the Parks & Recreation Building until 4 p.m. This year the “Mad Science Show” will entertain guests with Halloween Fire and Ice.

@ Drayton Plains Nature Center

The Friends of the Drayton Plains Nature Center are hosting their annual Halloween Hayrides and Spook Village at the DPNC. Hayride includes: Bounce house, scary storytelling and enjoy a bonfire with marshmallows!



Sunday, October 21

@ Gainsboro Park, Pleasant Ridge

All residents are welcome-no reservations needed! Join in on the family fun with hayrides thru town, “wax hands”, pony rides & petting farm and yummy fall treats! Hayride will stop at Ameriprise for more fun activities. This event is sure to get your family in the Fall mood!


You don’t need a special event to find a hayride. Here are some places that offer rides throughout the season.

Maybury Farm // 50165 W 8 Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167

  • Hop on the wagon and head out to the corn field to travel through the maze.

Wilson Barn // 29350 W Chicago St, Livonia, MI 48150

  • Come to the barn to pick a pumpkin, gourd, or corn stalk to decorate your home throughout October.  Pony rides and hayrides are available everyday, weather permitting.

Heritage Park // 24915 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48336

  • Heritage Park is hayride central on Fridays from September 14th to November 2nd between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Rides leave every half hour.

Corn Fun // 9391 Lindsey, Casco MI 48064

  • Hayrides are Saturdays and Sundays between noon and 6pm.

Three Cedars Farm // 7897 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167 

  • $5.00 a family Hayrides take you around the property back to Corn maze and the U-Pick pumpkin patch.

Wiard’s Orchard // 5565 Merritt Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197 // wagon rides

  • The tractor-drawn hayride through spooky tree-lined pathways lasts approximately 20 minutes, followed by a roaring bonfire.

Erie Orchards & Cider Mill // 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, Michigan 48133 // hayrides

  • Enjoy an evening hayride at Erie from 3:00pm to 6:00pm every Friday and stop by on the weekends for hayrides during the day.

Deneweth’s Garden Center // 16125 22 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48044 // hayrides

  • Go on a  Spooky hay ride through the decorated barn on the weekends and enjoy seasonal crafts and fun throughout October.

Porter’s Orchard // 12060 Hegel Rd, Goodrich, MI 48438 // hayrides

  • Starting on Labor Day Weekend, you and your family will be able to tour the beautiful orchard on a hay ride and in October it’s available 7 days a week.
