Simple pleasures like hayrides make big memories for little kids. Hop on the hay and enjoy a short ride through the park or the orchard at one of these special events.

 

EVENING WAGON TOUR & CAMPFIRE STORIES 

Friday, October 1 + Friday, October 15

@ Stony Creek Metropark, Shelby Township

Hop on our tractor drawn wagon and enjoy an evening ride along our nature trails. On your ride, we will share park history and interesting tidbits about nature and natural features in the park. After your tour enjoy a warm campfire and stories of the fall season.

 

FALL FESTIVAL 

Saturday, October 9 & Sunday, October 10

@ Kensington Metropark, Milford

Tour the farm, visit the animals, view traditional demonstrations, and be entertained by Rosco the Clown. The Kensington Living History Village will be open, showcasing early pioneer skills. Make sure to take a horse-drawn hayride to and from the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkins for you and your family.

@ Maybury Farm, Northville

Enjoy a wagon ride through the farm’s forests and fields, passing by our own Maybury bee hives!

@ MSU Tollgate Farm Children’s Garden, Novi

Take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Food, music, farm animals, educational exhibits, and children’s activities all make for a fun fall outing for all ages.

 

HARVEST HAPPENING

@ Hess-Hathaway Park, Waterford

The day of fun will be filled with games & activities, crafters, entertainment, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, historic house tours, inflatables, food and more!

 

GROUP HAYRIDES

October 7, 8, 14 & 15

@ Marshbank Park, West Bloomfield

Experience the changing seasons at Marshbank Park while enjoying a 20 minute tractor-drawn hayride. You’ll encounter a few nature knowledge stops along your route for added adventure. Take your picnic blanket and find a cozy spot to enjoy cider and a seasonal treat.

 

GREAT FALL FESTIVAL

@ Maybury Farm, Northville

The weekend festival features live music, activities, games, demonstrations and a tractor drawn wagon ride. You can also enjoy delicious eats & treats from one of the visiting food trucks.

@ Hawk Woods Nature Center, Auburn Hills

Come and celebrate the beauty that is the Fall season with the Auburn Hills Parks & Recreation Dept. There will be hayrides through the trails, nature education, a campfire, crafts and other Fall favorites.

@ Ford House, Grosse Pointe Shores

Get outside and kick off autumn at Harvest Day at Ford House. There will be lots of free fun for everyone, including old-school lawn games, a petting zoo, horse and pony rides, face painting, a giant leaf pile, hands-on-activities, and plenty of photo opportunities!

 

CIDER IN THE CITY

Saturdays in October beginning the 9th

@ Beacon Park, Detroit

Enjoy seasonal crafts, take a horse-drawn hayride around the park, enjoy live music, pick out the perfect pumpkin and snap a selfie with our fall flower wall. Food trucks aplenty along with donuts and cider.

Ferndale Fall Fest will feature a variety of activities, including games, prizes, hay rides, pony rides, face & pumpkin painting, carnival games, bounce houses, live music, a trick-or-treat trail and more!

@ Crosswinds Marsh Wetland Interpretive Preserve

Enjoy a beautiful hayride along a forested trail and gather around the bonfire for kid-friendly stories while enjoying cider and donuts. You can also demonstrate your pumpkin bowling skills, try our fall crafts and games and even participate in a scavenger hunt.

 

BOWERS FARM FALL FESTIVAL

@ Bowers School Farm, Bloomfield Hills 

The Fall Festival brings together the most cherished farm activities such as pumpkin picking, wagon rides, animal visits, live music performances, food, and much more.


You don’t need a special event to find a hayride. Here are some places that offer rides throughout the season.

  • Train and wagon rides run daily from 11am to 5pm

Maybury Farm // 50165 W 8 Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167

  • Hop on the wagon and head out to the corn field to travel through the maze.

Kensington Metropark Farm Center // 4570 Huron River Parkway, Mildford, MI 48380*

  • Enjoy a colorful fall hayride to and from our huge pumpkin patch to select your perfect Jack-O-Lantern every day in October.

Corn Fun // 9391 Lindsey, Casco MI 48064

  • Hayrides are Saturdays and Sundays between noon and 6pm.

Three Cedars Farm // 7897 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167 

  • $5.00 a family Hayrides take you around the property back to Corn maze and the U-Pick pumpkin patch.

Wiard’s Orchard // 5565 Merritt Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197 // wagon rides

  • The tractor-drawn hayride through spooky tree-lined pathways lasts approximately 20 minutes, followed by a roaring bonfire.

Blast Corn Maze // 6175 Daly Rd, Dexter, MI 48130

  • U-pick pumpkin patch, explore a corn maze and go on a hayride.

Porter’s Orchard // 12060 Hegel Rd, Goodrich, MI 48438 

  • Starting on Labor Day Weekend, you and your family will be able to tour the beautiful orchard on a hay ride and in October it’s available 7 days a week.
