Los Trompos Returns To Beacon Park Bringing FREE Family Fun

beacon park

Los Trompos is back at Beacon Park in downtown Detroit and you don’t want to miss it! The inactive play installation is fun for all ages and FREE!

Los Trompos (Spanish for ‘spinning tops’) is back at Beacon Park from April 27th to May 23rd. The collection of 8 three-dimensional, larger-than-life “spinning tops” are so much fun for kids and adults to play on. It’s also a great backdrop for pictures, so are the the rows of colorful tulips in the park’s gardens. Instead of a trip to Holland’s Tulip Festival, take a trip to downtown Detroit.

The spinning sculptures, created by award-winning artists and designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena, weave together Mexican tradition, culture, architecture, and art, by enabling guests to spin the tops inspired by the concept and construction of the traditional Mexican toy.

The park is open to the public, there are public restrooms and street parking is easy to find.
