The days may all be a blur, but we can still get excited for the weekend. After a long week at…
The world is changing and so is motherhood. Mother Honestly is a local community and think-tank for the modern woman striving to be her best mother, partner and self.
Meet Blessing Adesiyan. She is a chemical engineer, grad student, wife, mother of two – Camille (9) and Ade (9 months) – and entrepreneur. Yes, it’s impressive – but it’s also a situation a lot of women find themselves in these days. Gone are the days where someone is just a stay at home mom or a working mom – in today’s world we’re a lot of things. Moms run their households while running Etsy shops, side hustles or simply work through lunch to make soccer practice after school AND still find time to curate the perfect social media account. And we’re all just figuring it out as we go.
That’s what inspired Adesiyan to start Mother Honestly. She wanted to create a community where women can be encouraged and inspired to organize their thoughts and feelings about motherhood and their personal ambitions.
Mother Honestly is a member-based group where members pay a monthly ($35) or annual ($350) fee to invest in themselves and make the commitment to pursue their passions. Member perks include access to exclusive events (where you can bring your kids if you need/want to), quarterly empowerment packets with resources and discount vouchers, access to unique inspirational content and more.
Next month is the mother-lode of all events. It’s their first annual Mother: The Summit.
Mother: The Summit is Saturday, October 20th at the Madison Building in downtown Detroit. The Summit is a full day experience that will bring together 200 women from across the area to talk about motherhood, business, money, relationships, wellness and more. Adesiyan will be joined by Mojo in the Morning’s Shannon Murphy and other moms who will speak during the event. Guests will also participate in breakout sessions and immersive experiences.
