The Avenue An International Kitchen // Avenue of Fashion
When me and Winnie want pizza we go to The Avenue. The pizza dough is made from scratch in-house and has no bad fillers, which is a plus for parents that watch what there children eat. Besides the healthy part, the food is tasty. I like that the menu has a lot of options for picky eaters. There’s two lobby’s and also sitdown space.
Campus Martius Skating Rink // Downtown
This is a seasonal outing so we take full advantage of The Rink in the winter. The best time to go when you have little ones is early during the week. The weekends can be really crowded.
Belle Isle
Our Belle Isle trips are a day of relaxation. I lay under a tree while Winnie lays next to me reading a book enjoying the summer sun. I remember going to Belle Isle as a kid and knew we would be there all day having fun. Now I get to pass on that experience to my daughter.
Shed 5 // Eastern Market
So Winnie wants to be a chef when she grows up – awesome sauce! Eastern Market offers a kids summer cooking class in Shed 5 on Tuesday’s. She loves the classes so much. My tip for signing up is, be quick, be very quick. The classes fill up fast.
