If you have 4th and/or 5th graders at home anxious to ski we have good news – the Cold is Cool Passport from Michigan Snowsports Industries Association gives kids up to three free lift tickets or trail passes at 28 participating ski areas, including Alpine Valley and Mt. Holly.

For $25 families can download the Cold is Cool Passport that allows their 4th and/or 5th graders up to three free lift tickets or trail passes at 28 participating ski areas, plus additional discounts on the slopes and in Michigan ski shops. Cold is Cool Passport also includes a coupon for 20% off a helmet purchase and $20 off the purchase of $100 at participating ski shops across the state. The list of participating local stores is below.

The newly designed app replaces the Passport booklet and allows it to be contactless on at the lift ticket window. In addition to the app, each child needs a Cold is Cool I.D. Card with their photo and it is not valid without photo identification. To provide proof of student’s grade status parents can use a  report card or progress report. If the child is home schooled, the parent or guardian can include a note stating the child’s grade equivalent.

Get started with the application here and then hit the slopes!
