Put on some green and get ready to party! Bring the family to Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, Corktown, to watch the St. Patrick’s Day Parade or find an event a little closer to home.

 

“As you may have heard, in final preparation for the planning of the 62nd Annual Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade, the parade leadership team, in conjunction with Governor Whitmer’s and Mayor Duggan’s teams met and we agreed it was best to cancel this year’s parade,” Mike Kelly, Co-chair, Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade said in a statement.

 

CANCELLED – St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Corktown, Detroit
Sunday, March 15 @ 1pm

Find your seat on the original brick road of Michigan Avenue (between 6th and 14th street) to watch the color guard units, floats, novelty groups and marching bands for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Stop off begins at 1pm and the parade lasts for approximately 2 hours.

 

The parade is free, but you can purchase advanced tickets for the Family Fun Zone. Tickets cost $12 per person or $60 for a family of 6 for access to grand stand seating, parking, inflatables, special performances and appearances by Tigers and Lions mascots, Paws and Roary. The family zone is open from 11:30am to 3:30pm.

Little Nature Hour: I Spy A Leprechaun (Milford)

The Little Critters Nature Hour series presents a new nature program every month geared towards young children and their families. Each month we will read a story, create a craft, and participate in themed activities. The theme for March is St. Patrick’s Day fun. Participants will explore the nature area through a leprechaun scavenger hunt.

It’s that time again to gear up and get your green on! The Royal Oak St. Patrick’s Day parade will be on March 14th at 10am!

Get there early at 10am and watch or participate in the annual 5k race. The cutest Leprachaun contest takes place at 11:15am for children 5 and under. Also before the parade enjoy Irish Dancers and the Annual Paddy Wagon Bed Race.

 

Leprechaun Lunch with Princess Poppy (Taylor)
Saturday, March 14 @ 11am +3pm

Meet Poppy the Troll at Heritage Park Petting Farm, have fun with cookie decorating, enjoy a pizza lunch, and dessert table. Children will also be stuffing their own rainbow bear and taking it home.

 

Lucky Leprechaun Day (Orion Township)
Saturday, March 14 @ 11am 

The leprechauns have scattered coins all around the village! Start the hunt inside the Michigan Made Store for full instructions, then explore the grounds to find one of each of the six color coins. Bring them back to participating shops for a prize! And stop back in the Michigan Made Store during the afternoon for a special performance by Motor City Irish Dance!

 

St. Patrick’s Day Family Fun Party (Detroit) – CANCELLED DUE TO C19

We’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with some good ol’ fashioned fun at Beacon Park Detroit! Beacon Park will be transformed into an Irish pub complete with live entertainment throughout the afternoon, lawn games and free activities for kids.

 

Mother and Son Shamrockin’ Dance (Waterford)
Saturday, March 14 @ 1pm

Moms, join us for a precious night with your sons! Bring your special date to the event of the season and dance away the night. Each couple with take a professional 4 x 6 photograph home with them!

 

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration (Milford)
Sunday, March 15 @ 1pm

Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Nature Center with a variety of green-themed crafts and activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family! Make crafts that will be green in more ways than one, by using natural materials. Then embark on a self-guided Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt on the nature trails where you’ll be seein’ green. Hopefully the luck of the Irish is on your side – if you find all the Leprechauns, return to the Nature Center for a prize! Drop in for some family fun.
