WRITE SANTA

Even with all of the available technology, one of my family’s favorite traditions is writing a letter to Santa. Nothing beats spending time with my little guy listening to all of his ideas to add to his list. The simplicity of addressing an envelope to the North Pole and dropping the finished product off in the mailbox can’t be beaten. Plus the preschool teacher in me adores this method since it makes for an easy and fun educational experience. Even if your littles can’t write yet, it’s still a great way for kids to learn letter recognition and pre-writing skills.

CALL SANTA

In this modern-day of parenting, we’re lucky to have so many easy ways to help make the holiday season even more magical for children. I’ll never forget the first year Santa “called” our family. My son was in complete shock, speechless at times, and my husband and I had a good laugh watching his reaction to this magical experience. These are some of our favorite ways to call Santa this holiday season.

  • The Original Santa Hotline (319) 527-2680:  Kids are directly connected to Santa’s voicemail where they can leave him a personal message.
  • Google Assistant: Say, “Hey Google, call Santa.” Kids will be connected with a fun and free interactive experience.
  • Amazon Alexa: Say, “Alexa, talk to Santa Claus.” Kids are able to create a Christmas playlist with help from Santa himself. They can also ask, “Alexa, how many days until Christmas?”
  • Message From Santa app: This adorable, free app is available for both iPhone and Android. It allows kids to call Santa directly or adults can set it up to have Santa call instead.

TRACK SANTA

Make bedtime Christmas Eve a little easier and follow Santa’s late night journey around the world with a Santa Tracker app to make sure the littles are sound asleep before he arrives in Michigan.
