Guide to 2019 Thanksgiving Parade In Detroit

The 93rd annual America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown Detroit kicks off at the corner of Putnam + Woodward @ 8:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019. Here are the details you need to know to catch all of the action.
Iconic floats old (and new) will travel down Woodward Avenue with marching bands, entertainers and celebrity guests, including America’s Got Talent sensations, the Detroit Youth Choir as the Grand Marshals. Find your spot along the 2.3 mile route and watch the show. There is plenty of accessible seating but if you want to save a spot, Grandstand Tickets are for sale from The Parade Company you can also enter to win tickets for your family below!
LITTLEGUIDE TIP: As you decide where to stand/sit, understand where you are in relation to the start of the Parade – as that will determine when the Parade will actually start to pass you by. The Parade starts in Midtown at 8:45am, however, it doesn’t reach the TV Zone (just before Campus Martius) until 10am. So if you are by Campus Martius at 8:45am, you’re going to have some anxious kids by the time they actually see a float. Now…the counter to that is the earlier you arrive, the better the seats…so just be aware and plan accordingly!
Want more parade details? Check out The Parade Company’s website here for information about road closures, parking and other important details.
