You know spring has arrived when Greenfield Village opens for the year. The historic village opens to the public on Saturday, April 13th and members can get early access on Friday, April 12th.

Greenfield Village is our happy place. I love taking a trip through time to explore the working farm, Liberty Craftworks, Main Street and the historic homes. The gardens are a beautiful oasis and the train is fun for everyone. Let the kids run around, get sandy and a little wet in the summer at the playground. You can’t leave without a cone of custard because it’s ‘tradition’.

Your favorite Greenfield Village experiences will be open this year – the train, carousel, Model T rides, carriage rides, and the village playground. The farm animals will be out, crafts workers creating in Liberty Square and treats available available at the Frozen Custard Hut. Here’s a map of the Village to show you which experiences are staffed and which are open for self-guided tours.

This season Greenfield Village introduces Stand 44, the newest restaurant, opening on May 1. Located next to the iconic Detroit Central Market, Stand 44 is named for an actual stall in the market where Mary Judge sold her items from 1863 until the market was dismantled in 1894.

Through May 20, Greenfield Village will be open to the public Tuesday-Sunday and starting May 21, the village will operate seven days a week. Purchase tickets online, admission for children ages 5 to 11 is $26.25 and adults are $35, children under the age of 4 are FREE. We highly recommend getting a membership to The Henry Ford. You can use it for both the Museum and the Village with a trip to each in a year paying for itself.

Make the most of your visit and head inside to The Henry Ford Museum to visit the PAW Patrol pups at The PAW Patrol Adventure Play exhibit while they’re still here (until April 28th)!
