The Greater Detroit Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show returns to Macomb Community College with kid-friendly fun October 13th through 15th.

The Greater Detroit Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show is back for its 78th year, hosted by the Michigan Mineralogical Society, with presenting sponsor Cranbrook Institute of Science. Rock lovers of all ages can observe specimens from the nationally recognized A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum, Cranbrook Institute of Science, Royal Ontario Museum, and more, and exhibits from some of the top mineral collectors in the country.

This family-friendly event gives kids the opportunity to pan for real gold specks they can keep and the opportunity to hunt and dig for fossils. There will be museum quality fossils on display, affordable gems, and a mineral fluorescence booth where guests can observe minerals under ultraviolet lights and watch them glow red, green, blue and yellow.

The Greater Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show is at Macomb Community College Friday, October 13th from 9am to 6pm, Saturday, October 14th from 10am to 7pm and Sunday, October 15th from 11am to 5pm. Get your tickets online now, admission for adults is $8 and tickets for children ages 5 to 12 are $4.
