If you follow us on social, you have seen how much I love Michigan Fields. The new Detroit based delivery…
Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley make us laugh in their Facebook videos, #imomsohard, and now you can see them live on stage at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on Sunday, July 14th! Enter to win tickets for you and your mom-friend!
Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley are moms on the move – and on tour! From online videos sharing stories about the ups and downs of motherhood, to a national comedy tour, recently published book, a stand-up special on Amazon Prime (coming out on August 23) AND a potential television series on ABC, the ladies of #imomsohard are #workingsohard.
As glamorous as it all sounds, the reality is the same for them as it is for the rest of us – life is busy and balance is hard. When asked how they do it all, Smedley admits that there’s a lot of mom guilt involved. Life on the road has it perks (like…no little people watching you pee) and they love getting to party with fans at shows, but as we all know, it’s not easy to be away from the kids. And even when they’re away, Hensley and Smedley are always in mom-mode, checking in and checking up to make sure their husbands have everything under control.
The #imomsohard community makes the long days worth it because as Hensley and Smedley travel the country, they’re reminded that moms everywhere are all just trying to figure it out and doing the best they can along the way. Of all the moms they’ve met over the years Jen says they’ve never met a mom who said she’s crushing it in every department of life. This has led Kristin to her best piece of parenting advice – lower your bar of expectation and then go 4 notches lower, because no one is perfect and it’s okay to just be OK.
The other thing they love about being on tour is seeing moms relax, laugh and leave a show feeling validated and supported.
If you aren’t following #imomsohard you should!
