A Detroit City Football Club (DCFC) game is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. The soccer games are fun, family-friendly and affordable! Most years, we’re wishing away winter to get back on the field, but not anymore! DCFC recently opened their new indoor Fieldhouse this fall and now fans and aspiring athletes can enjoy the sport all year long.
Soccer tots on Saturdays is designed for 2-4 year olds to learn the basic (and I mean basic) skills of soccer. My two year old, Lucas, participated in the fall session of soccer tots and now knows the route from Livonia to 3401 E Lafayette St., anxiously pointing to the building when we arrive because he gets to gets to see his best friends from daycare (pictured above), his ‘girlfriend’ who lives in Flat Rock and Kerry‘s son who lives in Detroit.
Yes, soccer tots is worth a weekend car ride – both near and far!
The second session is about to kick off with 8 weeks of Saturday morning practices and games running December 8 – January 26 from 10am – 11am. Each player will receive a DCFC jersey shirt and the parents get to enjoy complimentary coffee!
Sometimes I think the parents get more of a workout wrangling the kids to participate (let’s be honest), but it’s well worth the 50 minutes of letting them run around inside, introducing them to team sports and giving us soccer mom/dad cred without having to sit out in the rain!
The next 8 week session of soccer tots begins on Saturday, December 8th and TWO lucky tots will get to enroll for FREE!
Oh and did I forget to mention that the Fieldhouse also has a restaurant that sells mimosas and Bloody Mary’s in the morning? Cheers!
