Grocery shopping just got easier! Blake’s Farm is launching a new Farm Share program on May 5th and we’re giving away a half-share to a family for the summer! Here’s everything you need to know.
What’s a Farm Share?
A CSA Farm program is a partnership between the farmer and the customers. Customers make an annual commitment to the farm to purchase a “share of the season’s harvest”. This harvest is picked up weekly and contains a wide variety of fresh, in season fruits and vegetables as well as other farm treats such as our Blake’s famous donuts, sweet apple cider or jarred goods.
How Does It Work?
A share is a weekly box of local, fresh, sustainable produce that is picked up for 13 weeks (May 5th – July 28th and August 4th – October 27th). There are 2 types of shares – full or half. Our shares include a mix of fresh fruits and vegetables and from time to time other treats for example donuts, sweet cider, or a jarred goods. Your share will reflect the growing season – the contents will always be changing.
What Does It Cost?
A Full Share is ideal for a family or a couple that loves eating healthy and will be approximately a full bushel box of produce each week. The full share is $507 for the 13-week season ($39 a week). A Half Share is ideal for a couple or small family and is approximately a ½ bushel of produce a week. A Half Share is $312 for the 13-week season($24 a week). Payment is can be made in 3 installments and if you pay in full at the start of the season you get a discounted price.
Where Do I Sign Up?
Sign up for your Farm Share here. The registration deadline is Friday, May 1st and the first pick up is Tuesday, May 5th. Please note delivery is not available at this time. All Farm Share families must pick up their box on Tuesdays between 1:00pm-7:00pm at Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill, 17985 Armada Center Road.
What Can I Do If I Want Blake’s But Can’t Go Every Week?
Blake’s Farm remains open and has our drive-thru service at both the Cider Mill location, 17985 Armada Center Road and the Almont location, 5900 Van Dyke Almont MI 48003. The online menu can be viewed online at www.blakefarms.com and you can pre-order your items online so that it’s ready for pick-up.
