Get ready for a throwback experience to share with your kids. The Giant Slide on Belle Isle is opening for the final weeks of summer and you don’t want to miss it!
Everyone who grew up in metro Detroit has memories of going down the 6 lane slide on Belle Isle and after years of closure it is finally re-opening. In partnership with Healthy Kidz Inc., the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is re-opening the Giant Slide on Belle Isle for a limited time beginning Friday, August 19th. The slide will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 7pm through Labor Day Weekend. The cost to ride is $1 per slide, cash only.
Next to the giant slide is Kids Row Playground with an array of structures for kids of all ages. Parking and public restrooms are located next to the Belle Isle Aquarium and Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, both are open on the weekend and have FREE admission.
Please note, Belle Isle is a Michigan State Park and a vehicle pass is required ($12 annually for admission to all state parks).
