FREE Family-Friendly Concerts In Metro Detroit This Summer

Outdoor movies are always fun in the summer and this year it’s also a great social distancing activity. From new releases to throwbacks, watch your favorite movies on the big screen at the park or at the drive-in.
Reading & Rhythm On The Riverfront (Detroit)
Reading and Rhythm on the Riverfront will take place at Gabriel Richard Park, a large riverfront oasis, which allows families and children to physically distance. The music and storytelling portion of the program will take place live and be projected on an outdoor screen and the celebrity reader portion will be prerecorded every Thursday at 10am and 11:30am from July 8th to August 12th.
Order a Hungry Howie’s pizza and picnic on Kirksey Recreation Center’s east lawn for free Summer children’s concerts Tuesdays at 6:30pm from July 6th to August 17th.
Get ready to dance in Town Square in Downtown Northville at 10:30am June 15th to August 3rd.
The Village of Rochester Hills hosts free family events Tuesdays thru August 24. Read a book together, listen to music (singing and dancing), and do an activity or craft with North Oakland Family YMCA!
Summer Concert Family Night (Shelby Township)
Head to River Bends Park, Wednesday, July 14th at 7pm to listen to Dan Rafferty Band for “Family Night”.
Kids Komotion (West Bloomfield)
Pack a blanket and gather the children to join us on the concert hill at Marshbank Park for children’s entertainment. Every child will receive a musical instrument to use and take home.
- June 17 at 11 am – Children’s Theatre of Michigan
- August 26 at 6 pm – The Music Lady Beverly Meyer
