National Fire Prevention Week is October 6-12th and across the country fire stations are opening their doors to let families see their equipment and learn about fire safety. Let your littles see their favorite trucks and learn how to be safe in case of an emergency at these fire station events around town.
Saturday, September 28 / 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
@ Roseville Police Department
With a focus on Safety, the Open House will feature interactive and educational activities for all ages. Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation will be on site offering free Child ID Kits. K9 Corporal will be on site for live demonstrations. The Fire Department will have a vehicle extrication demonstration (Jaws of Life), live burn room, spray house and smoke house. Offering tours of both the Police and Fire Stations. Get up close and personal with emergency vehicles, DPW and tow trucks

@ Canton Fire Station #1
This year’s open house will include station tours, a fire vehicle display, and live demonstrations of the department’s extrication equipment (“jaws of life”). Kids will be able to participate in a scavenger hunt, try on fire gear, and go through the department’s Fire Safety House. Light refreshments and giveaways will be provided.

Join the City of Fraser and its many departments and supporters as we have some fall fun! Pumpkins, face painting, cider and donuts, bounce house, storytelling, crafts and much more! Learn about our very own Fire and Police departments and view our Big Rig Car Show!

@ Monroe Fire Station No. 1
See the brand new fire station and enjoy special activities geared towards family participation, including an inflatable bouncer, trying on fire fighter gear, putting out a ‘fire’ with the hose, practicing with a fire extinguisher simulator, and special give-aways for children. Other activities include station tours and photo ops. Staff will be on hand to discuss issues of fire safety, demonstrate equipment use, etc.

A day of FREE family fun at the Royal Oak Fire Station! The day will feature events for kids of all ages including, donuts and cider, a bounce house, a candy drop, stove fire demonstrations, vehicle extrication demonstrations, smoke house, and a chance to spray the fire hose and meet Sparky the Firehouse dog! Free vision screenings from the Lion’s Club and Child ID’s from Michigan Mason’s will also be given on site.

12th Annual Downtown Garden City Chili Cook-Off / Hot Rod & Motorcycle Show is Fun for the whole family! In addition to chili, there will be live music, beer, wagon ride to the GCFD & GCPD Open House, local artisan vendors, food trucks and more. VOTE for your favorite Hot Rods & Motorcycles! Awards will be presented at 4:00pm.

@ Adams Fire House
The hands-on event offers attendees an opportunity to operate a fire hose and learn about fire safety. A kitchen grease fire along with portable fire extinguisher demonstrations also will take place during the open house. View an EMS and vehicle extrication simulation with air bag deployments, along with HAZMAT apparatus and equipment. Enter a raffle and enjoy firehouse chili, hot dogs, face painting and much more at this family-friendly event!

@ Lake Orion Fire Station No. 1
Come check out the fire trucks and meet Orion’s Firefighters! We’ll have a ton of activities for the kids and even for the adults. Tour the new station and climb aboard our fire engines. Go in a Dalmatian bounce house and take selfies with Sparkie the Fire Dog.
Did You Know? The Michigan Firehouse Museum is open Thursday – Sunday from 12pm to 4pm!
