Located in Detroit’s Cultural Center, the museum hosts a series of week-long specialty camps throughout the summer AND it’s not too late to sign up! From robotics to forensics, health and wellness, the Michigan Science Center is the perfect place for your kids to have fun while learning.

 

July 1 -5: Health and Wellness

Kick off the summer by learning all about our amazing bodies! Learn about how our organs, muscles, and bones all work together to make us do and experience extraordinary things. This camp is best for children in pre-K to 5th grade.

 

July 8-12: Earth Rocks!

We’re digging deep into earth science and environmental studies! From rocks to worms, we’ll explore the natural world around us. This camp is best for children in pre-K to 5th grade.

 

July 15-19: Robotics

Learn the language of 1s and 0s to program a robot friend! Join us to learn more about the world of robotics. This camp is best for children in 1st to 8th grade.

 

July 22- 26: Forensic Science

Grab your magnifying glass and get ready to make some observations! Can you find the clues and put the pieces together to figure out what happened? This camp is best for children in 1st to 8th grade.

 

July 29 – August 2: Space Science

Have you ever looked up into the night sky and wondered what is out there? Blast off to outer space with MiSci to learn all about the Universe! This camp is best for children in pre-K to 5th grade.

 

August 5-9: Maker Space

Do you have an idea for a great invention? Learn about the invention process and help solve real world problems! This camp is best for children in pre-K to 5th grade.

 

August 12-16: Space Mission Robotics

We are not alone on the journey to Mars! Learn how robots are being used to make great discoveries and help us understand the cosmos. This camp is best for children in 1st to 8th grade.

 

August 19-23: Weird Science

Many great scientific discoveries come out of happy accidents and messy experiments. Start the school year off with some crazy, wacky, weird science! This camp is best for children in pre-K to 5th grade.

 

The Michigan Science Center’s summer camp is open to kids in pre-k to 8th grade and runs from 9:00 am–4:00 pm, before and after care (8:00 am-5:30 pm) is provided for a nominal fee.
