Arts Beats and Eats brings 4 days of fun to downtown Royal Oak over Labor Day Weekend and here’s everything you need to know for visiting with kids.
Explore the fine art festival, sample food from local restaurants and listen to 200 performances on one of 9 stages featuring unique entertainment acts for music lovers of every genre from R&B to country.
Families with a member on the ASD spectrum can sign up for Family Days presented by Delta Dental and receive up to 6 early admission passes to Arts, Beats & Eats on September 4-6, 2021. Check-in begins at 9:30am at the Sherman and Lafayette parking structure where free parking is available as well, and free entry ends at 12pm. Upon entry you will receive a free bottle of Aquafina water, and lunch will be available for the first 550 participants on all days.
Stop by the Oakland County Parks Kids Zone for an action packed, filled with laughs line-up on the Detroit Institute of Arts Kids’ Stage. Check out the complete line up below and make time to visit the Arts & Crafts station, Inflatable Playscapes and Kiddie Carnival.

HOURS + ADMISSION:
- Friday, September 3: 11am to 11pm (admission is free before 5pm)
- Saturday, September 4: 11am to 11pm
- Sunday, September 5: 11am to 11pm
- Monday, September 6: 11am to 9:30pm
Festival admission is FREE on Friday before 5pm, after 5pm the price is $10. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, admission is $5 before 3pm and $10 after 3pm. Carnival rides cost between $2.50 to $3.75 per ride.
PARKING: All Downtown parking lots and structure will be $15 (location addresses can be found here) and shuttle transportation is available from Royal Oak High School. Parking at the school costs $10 and the shuttle is free. Rides will be available Saturday – Sunday from 10:30am – 12:30am and Monday from 10:30am – 10:30pm.
