Halloween season is here and it’s time to put on some costumes and collect candy! Here are the Halloween events happening around town that your kids will love.

Story Trail Trick or Treating @ Heritage Park (Canton)

Thursday, October 7th

Grab the family, get dressed up in your costume  for Trick or Treating along the Heritage Park Story Trail from 4-7:30pm. The selected story is for all ages. Pre-registration is required with a paid fee per trick or treater! The trail is a mile long so make sure to bring strollers or wagons. If you have a later time slot a flashlight is suggested!

 

Trek or Treat @ Rolling Hills Park (Ypsilanti)

Saturday, October 9th

Come enjoy a 1-mile section of trail, visit themed stations and collect your treats along the way!  Timed entry to maintain social distancing.  Masks are required during check-in and when communicating with staff, and are encouraged on the trail. Space is limited for each 1-hour session.  No walk-ins permitted.

 

Panther Hunt @ Willis Park (Wixom)

Saturday, October 9th

Come dressed in your Halloween costume for some outdoor Halloween fun! Kids will receive a Halloween tote, a chance to go along the Trick or Treat Trail, live music, a hayride, get a pumpkin, & face painting.

 

Friendly Forest @ Clintonwood Park (Clarkston)

Saturday, October 9th

Bring your little princesses, ghosts and goblins to collect goodies from all of your favorite cartoon and fairy-tale characters! Walk a decorated trail with authentic back drops that will keep you peeking around the bend for more.

 

Harvest Fest @ Dequindre Cut (Detroit)

Detroit Harvest Fest & Food Truck Rally will feature 12 trick or treating stations, crafting stations, a pumpkin patch and pumpkin decorating for kids, spooky science activities a scavenger hunt and more! Here’s the line-up!

Friday, October 15th

Fun for the whole family! Enjoy fall and harvest-themed games and activities, along with hot pizza and fall treats. Paint with fruits and veggies, play carrot-toss, try old-time chores, and more. Digger and Cheddar will be there, too!

 

Halloween Spooktacular @ Heritage Garden Lake (Shelby Township)

Start the night off with Trick-or-Treating outside in Heritage Lake. Then stick around for a movie – “Scoob”, rated PG.

 

Spooky Scavenger Hunt @ Nature Center (Sterling Heights)

Saturday, October 16th

Find bony fingers, skeletons, and fairy goblets, in true Nature Center style, and entertaining for the whole family. Pick up your spooky scavenger hunt at the Nature Center on Saturday, October 16 between 11am and 3pm, then head outside to see how many items you can find.

 

FREE Halloween @ Michigan Science Center (Detroit)

Saturday, October 16th

Enjoy a FREE spooky celebration on Saturday, October 16 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., sponsored by BASF. There will be Halloween-themed activities and free general admission to the museum. Costumes are encouraged!

 

Harvest Festival @ Crosswinds Marsh (New Boston)

Saturday, October 16th

Come dressed in costume for some Fall fun!  You’ll be able to take a hayride along a forested trail (please wear your mask), listen to kid-friendly stories around a campfire, lots of games and activities, and a costume contest for kids 15 and younger.

 

A Witches’ Brew Tea Party @ Wolcott Farm Center (Ray)

Saturday, October 16th

Beyond the Seed is brewing up a witch’s tea party! Mount your brooms and swiftly take flight. They’re serving some tea and snacks to delight. When witches go riding and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers ‘tis near Halloween. Dust off your hat’s and dress in your witch’s best. Join us in the garden and we’ll do the rest.

 

Trick or Treat Along The Trail @ Kensington Metropark (Milford)

Celebrate Halloween with fun and safe trick-or-treating along the trail for the whole family! Follow the path of pumpkins along our festive trail, and who knows which costumed characters you might find? Dress in your costume and bring your candy bucket to collect goodies – adults too!

 

Kids, Candy & Characters @ Oakwoods Metropark (New Boston)

Begin this fun program with some Halloween-themed crafts and snacks, followed by a guided hike through the woods to meet some interesting characters and get a head start on your Halloween candy collection. Kids (and adults) are encouraged to wear their costumes.

 

Halloween Scavenger Hunt @ Thayer’s Corner (Northville)

Tuesday, October 19th

Wear your costume and grab a photo near our photo prop station. Walkthrough the trail and see if your group can spot all of our hunt items. Scavenger hunt, cider, and donuts pick a pumpkin, storytime, and other entertainment. No on-site registration will be available.

 

Haunted Halloween Barns @ Wolcott Metropark (Ray)

Thursday, October 21st

Get into the Halloween spirit with this fun and spooky activity. Ever wonder about the origins of pumpkin carving or the scarecrow? Join us to learn little known facts of Halloween and its ties to agriculture, while you enjoy decorating a pre-built Halloween barn and watching a family-friendly Halloween movie.

 

Jack O’Lantern Jubilee @ ITC Sports Park (Novi)

Children ages 13 and under are welcome to join us for our Halloween event!  The event is a not so scary Halloween.  Participants will enjoy a trick-or-treat trail, holiday crafts, and character visits.  Please register your participant for a one hour time slot for this self guided event.

Have fun with a safe alternative to Trick or Treating. This drive thru event is touch free. Collect your goodies from the safety of your own car.

Various YMCA locations will offer a fun and safe Halloween event for children. Kids will enjoy healthy treats, scavenger hunts, crafts and so much more. You can expect at some locations to enjoy a live DJ, or watch an outdoor movie, hear a Halloween Story or participate in a Trunk or Treat. Friday (Birmingham, Farmington, & Royal Oak) and Saturday (Detroit, Milford, Southgate and Mount Clemens).

 

Shadows From The Past Halloween Walk @ Greenmead (Livonia)

Friday, October 22nd & Saturday, October 23rd

Greenmead’s historic buildings serve as the backdrop for this event! Participants will walk through the village, stopping at stations to receive goodies and treats for the kids. Costumes are encouraged!

 

Haunted Nature Center @ Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center (Shelby Township)

Friday, October 22nd & Saturday, October 23rd

Visit our haunt-filled nature center to find costumed characters, fun scenes and spooky stories. Some of our characters will be handing out treats to anyone entering their lair. This playfully eerie event is ideal for the entire family.

 

Halloween Hoot @ Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve (Rochester Hills)

For it’s 30th anniversary year, come see the trail transformed into a magical, mesmerizing, Halloween experience that will appeal to all ages!

 

Sterling Frights @ Dodge Park (Sterling Heights)

Saturday, October 23rd

Sterling Heights celebrates the spirit of Halloween with Sterling Frights.  The event will include music, games, attractions, food, and plenty of photo opportunities – all designed around public health guidelines. Free pumpkins for first 400 participants.  For children ages 12 and younger.

 

Little Goblins @ The Ford House (Grosse Pointe Shores)

Saturday, October 23rd

Bring your little goblins to Ford House for this annual day of Halloween entertainment filled with spooky yet kid-friendly fun. There will be trick-or-treating stops, the always popular giant leaf pile for jumping, photo ops, a straw maze and a haunt-free wagon ride. Children under 2 who are not trick-or-treating are free. All attendees should have a ticket.

 

Trunk or Treat @ Historic Village (Westland)

Saturday, October 23rd

Get the littles ones all dressed up for Halloween and head over to the village. Trunkers pass out candy to kids in a safe atmosphere. Stations will also be set up at the various village houses. We ask that masks and spacing be observed.

 

Halloween Hoot @ Beverly Park (Beverly Hills)

Saturday, October 23rd

The fun will start with pumpkin carving! The first 200 children carve pumpkins that will line the Hoot Trail. (Pumpkins can be picked up after 8:00 p.m. that night or before noon the next day to take home). Later, 6pm – 8pm, children in costume can Trick or Treat along the Hoot Trail through the woods, but must be accompanied by an adult. Storytellers, cider and donuts are available in the pavilion.

 

Halloween Festival @ Nankin Mills Park (Westland)

Saturday, October 23rd

Nankin Mills hosts the annual Fall Festival back for 2021. The free event will offer a costume parade, putt putt golf, candy giveaway, hay rides, and games & inflatables.

 

Halloween Kids Shoot @ Riley Archery Range (Farmington Hills)

Saturday, October 23rd

Come in costume and join us to shoot for treats.  For kids ages 8- 17 years.  Pre-registration required.

 

Trick or Treat Trail @ Veterans Memorial Park (St. Clair Shores)

Saturday, October 23rd

A Trick or Treat Trail for children ages 18 months through 12 years old will feature spooky music, hot chocolate, cider, donuts, and many service clubs, businesses, city departments and individuals handing out candy in a safe and secure setting.

 

Trick or Treat Trail @ Indian Springs Metropark (White Lake)

Saturday, October 23rd

Join us to learn about pumpkins and how they grow, hear stories, participate in games and nature themed crafts. Help build a scarecrow through interactive storytelling and decorate a small pumpkin to take home. Snacks and cider will be part of the fun! Costumes are highly encouraged.

 

Trick or Treat Train Rides @ Joy Park (Clinton Township)

Sunday, October 24th

Come Ride with us for our Annual Trick or Treat Train Rides. Let the kids dress up for a 35-45 minute fun train ride and afterwards the kids can trick or treat from our museum volunteers. We will also be having complimentary cider and donuts after each ride furnished by Blake’s Orchards.

 

Boo Bash @ Nature Center (Farmington Hills)

Sunday, October 24th

It’s Halloween at Heritage Park! Dress up in your favorite costume and come enjoy a hayride, s’mores, crafts, a creepy crawly creature display, and trick or treating.

 

Pumpkin Palooza (Plymouth)

Sunday, October 24th

Come and enjoy a safe and haunted Halloween experience. Pumpkin Palooza is a family fun Halloween extravaganza with games, costume contests, dancing, entertainment, petting zoo, and candy. Admission is Free while some activities hold a fee to participate.

 

Spooktacular (Royal Oak)

Sunday, October 24th

The 37th Annual Royal Oak Spooktacular will feature trick or treating at local businesses and fun family activities on Washington Street. Dress the kids up and let the go Trick-or-Treating to the shops downtown!

 

Trick or Treat Trail @ Marshbank Park (West Bloomfield)

Sunday, October 24th

Get more treats than tricks this fall by walking along the safe and friendly ½ mile paved trail at Marshbank Park during our Trick-or-Treat Trail. Put on your costume and head out to collect goodies from costumed characters, local businesses and organizations.

 

Tiny Pumpkins @ Community Center (Northville)

Tuesday, October 26th

Have a fun time at our not-so-spooky Halloween event! Enjoy pumpkin decorating, dancing, coloring, Halloween stations and a costume contest for the tiny pumpkins. Parents and Grandparents welcome at no charge. No candy will be given out at this event. For children 5 and under.

 

Dino Boo Stroll @ HYPE Recreation Center (Dearborn Heights)

See over 100 dinosaurs, find hands-on fun and trick or treat stations at HYPE.

 

Things That Go Bump In The Night @ Historical Museum (Plymouth)

Friday, October 29th

Come explore the Museum after hours on Friday, October 29, with tours starting every 15 minutes between 6 and 8 pm. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but not required. Upon departure from the Museum, children will be given a bag of candy and a craft to make at home.

 

Trick-or-Treat “Under the Sea” @ Troy Historic Village (Troy)

Come to the Orchard and enjoy all the fun it has to offer. Pony and hayrides, inflatables, a corn maze, and more! This weekend come dressed in your Halloween costume and receive some special treats!

 

Streets of Treats (Northville)

Saturday, October 30th

Streets of Treats is back! This fun family event will have you walking Downtown Northville ready to collect all those Halloween goodies. Kids and parents, meet us in Town square and reveal your 2021 costume to your friends and neighbors. We will kick off the Trick or Treating with a Ceremonial wave to welcome the Tooth Fairy from Preservation Dental into town at 10am in Town square.

Join us for a family-friendly spooktacular outdoor trick-or-treat event! Visit the StoryWalk® behind the Bennett Civic Center Library, read the story, and pick up a few (non-candy) treats along the way.

Experience Halloween with all the treats, and way more tricks! Remain in the comfort of your car while rolling past a dizzying array of costumed characters, fire spinners, circus artists, and stunt performers. Dress for trick-or-treating since our volunteers will be handing out candy right through your open windows- and don’t forget your candy buckets!

Trick or Treat with Trucks @ Commerce Township Library (Commerce)

In the style of our past Touch a Truck programs, we’d like to invite you to a special Trick or Treat event… with Trucks! Children of all ages are welcome to come Trick or Treating in our parking lot. Trucks and vehicles from around the community will be passing out candy, and giving the kids a chance to see the fun vehicles up close.

 

Monster Mash & Trick or Treat Stroll @ Downtown Berkley

Saturday, October 30th

A Trick or Treat Stroll will be held from 12pm – 3pm, to give families with little ghosts and goblins, princesses and pumpkins the opportunity to trick-or-treat at participating Downtown Berkley businesses. All are invited to the Monster Mash, from 2pm – 6pm. This party will feature a live DJ, Halloween crafts and activities, plenty of photo opportunities, something suitable for all ages. This outdoor celebration will take place at Coolidge Highway and Dorothea Roads

 

Halloween Spooktacular (Auburn Hills)

Saturday, October 30th

Children will enjoy wearing costumes and trick-or-treating from downtown merchants, rain or shine.  Shops will be handing out candies and other goodies! So bring the kids for a frightfully good time!

 

Halloween @ Kackleberry Farm (Monroe)

Saturday, October 30th

You’re invited to come in costume both Saturday and Sunday to celebrate Halloween. Lots of fun and lots to eat! 6 Halloween characters will be there for a meet and greet between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

 

Trunk or Treat @ Library (Fraser)

Saturday, October 30th

Join us for our second annual Trunk or Treat! To ensure our patron’s safety when trick or treating last year, we decided to hold a trunk or treat in our parking lot. Well we’ve decided to continue this awesome tradition this year!

 

Halloween On The Farm @ S & R Lavender Farm (Pinckney)

Sunday, October 31st

Join us for a fun family afternoon on the farm with carnival games, trick or treating, hayrides, petting zoo, and more! Kids are $10, accompanying adults are $5. Don’t forget to visit the Lavender shop while you’re there. Hayrides are not included in admission fee.
