Looking for a fun stop on your way to Chicago or just want to take a day trip somewhere new? Look no further than Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek!

Binder Park Zoo is one of the largest zoos in Michigan and features an array of animals with the Wild Africa Exhibit being a big highlight. Take the FREE zebra-striped wilderness tram or walk the 0.5 miles through the beautiful trees to the African savanna. There you will find a welcoming boardwalk path to view the zebras, giraffes, ostriches, lions, cheetahs and more! And for an added cost ($2-$5), you can have the opportunity to meet and hand-feed lettuce snacks the giraffes up close and personal!

Another highlight is the “Zoorassic Park” exhibit that opened in September 2021. This space includes a herd of colorful, life-size dinosaur replicas of Triceratops, tyrannosaurus rex, stegosaurus and more! Paleontologists-in-training can dig for ancient fossils and velociraptor remains or do other hands-on experiences in several areas of Zoorassic Park.

Don’t forget to stop by the one-of-a kind wooden carousel or ride the vintage train pulled by a miniature locomotive through the scenic 1.5 mile nature loop! $3/person.

The Binder Park Zoo season runs from May 1st to October 30th. Standard admission is $15.75 for adults and $13.75 for children ages 2 to 10. Children 2 and under are FREE. Parking is $3 per vehicle.
