Whenever we ask LittleGuide families to share their favorite playground, Booth Park always wins. It’s also the most popular favorite among #MomLife features – Jill, Katie and Raven all love it. We love it too and here’s everything you need to know before taking a trip to Birmingham.

Grab your most recent Amazon or diaper box for this trip because your kids will want to go down the grass hill. It may sound simple, but this green space is the star of the show. We have learned this year that rock features are fan favorites (if you haven’t been to Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve – check it out, everyone loves it!) and the park has one tucked away in a semi-circle garden.

There are two playgrounds. One for smaller kids featuring climbers and a train and a castle fort with plenty of slides and climbers to keep the big kids busy. There are swings and a sandbox. You can use public access hand sanitizer before and after playtime too.

Take a stroll along the Rouge River down the half mile Booth Trail that ends near the Birmingham Museum and Baldwin Public Library that is open to the public AND has a newly renovated Children’s Department. Take a the city route back to the park and grab a coffee and sweets at Bakehouse 46 .

Fee meters are located next to the park for street parking and there is a large parking structure that has free parking for the first two hours.
