Local educator and historian Jamon Jordan will lead a lecture on the history of Detroit and the African American and Indigenous Peoples impact on the city. This city, which is about 85% African American, has a rich history, from enslaved Africans and Indigenous People to being a major station on the Underground Railroad which Black people used to escape enslavement, to a Black economic and residential center, known as Black Bottom & Paradise Valley to numerous events, leaders and figures in history.

Jamon Jordan is the owner of Black Scroll Network History Tours. The company specializes in history tours that focus on African and African American history, especially, but not exclusively, African American history in Detroit.
